ATP Ciara needs to be giving quality or call it a career cause she’s tainting her discography.
 

I understand in the past she’s spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on videos and got no where but she has businesses now and is married to a man worth $150 million dollars. There’s no excuse…

 

Chris Brown, Maluma etc. kept releasing quality until something stuck. Ciara has been half assed for years now and takes too long of breaks between singles. 

what makes this even more alarming is that she has a chris brown collab in the vault and releases this instead of that?

Well that’s dumb……. Of course the music isn’t gonna go anywhere…….no shade but she doesn’t have a lot of fanfare to just completely rely on that………. This is why a lot of her new music is DOA. She needs to stop this formula it literally doesn’t work. 

 

Her going independent it’s the worst thing she could’ve done:

 

- mid music 

- cheap videos

- trash marketing, nonexistent promotion 

- no direction in literally anything

Ciara is not tapped into her audience or what ppl want from her. That’s the issue.

That's why her most current releases aren't clicking and her fanbase are dwindling every-time she releases a new song. Like,sis we all grown at this point like keep relating to us so we can continue supporting you

Songs like Promise, Ride and Body Party are once in a career moments. She can’t just simply give us a rehash because it won’t hit the same so she absolutely should be experimenting and trying new sounds (especially at this point where her mainstream appeal has already dwindled), she’s just not making interesting artistic choices. 
 

I wonder if she’s ever reached out to the indie alt-r&b girls like Solange, Kelala, Kelis, etc. I’m sure they would know exactly what to do with her.

Very valid points all around about Promise, Ride, and Body Party.

 

I agree that she shouldn't be trying to rehash that sound, but someone needs to get in her ear about not trying to rehash the Crunk sound nor dated takes on her heyday either. There is no justification for her releasing trash like Jump, Better Thangs, For Da Girls, and most of Beauty Marks and Jackie. Wackness like Rooted and Melanin too.

 

Experimenting actually has worked to her favor with songs like Painted Black (Alt) and Freak Me (Afrobeats), so it's bizarre that she doesn't do it more. It seems now she's trying to finally carve out a definitive angle (hyper-positive lyrics) but the dismally dated production and commitment to NOT evolving in a more measured manner is the issue. She's a beast on stage but has THEE most horrible ear for good music (much less a hit). It's insanely bad.

 

Honestly, some of this feels like wasted keystrokes. She's nearing 40 in an industry that sadly puts the girls out to pasture at 30. Body Party was 10 years ago. 10 YEARS AGO. 

 

Her best bet IMO is securing another Level Up, if only to periodically re-fill her commercial opportunities and maintain a base level interest in her music output. At least enough to tour every so often. But, even then, what's the point if she can't follow it up with anything sustainable? If she doesn't tend to her issues, it'll keep being a case of diminishing returns.

It seems that no one around her is being honest with her about the quality of her music.

 

She needs better writers and producers. Whoever she has been working with has not helped her find a sound that is unique, captivating and timeless. Her recent music these past few years is very disposable.

Releasing a song after teasing it for weeks/months is literally what everyone does nowadays. Lil Nas teased Montero for almost a year and Olivia did the same with Drivers License. You can disagree with the strategy but she's not crazy for doing it.

 

The song is cute but I can understand why people don't love it. The quality of the music is the biggest issue here.  Nothing else really matters until she stops trying to make music that her kids can listen to.

I dont like the way she teases though, she literally adversely teased the whole song.......before it was officially out. she also teases the other girls verses (in full) before its out too.....it doesn't make sense. She teases music like were still in the early 2000's....we are not and ppl's attention span is is too short.

 

and yes, a lot of her newer music is "dumbed down" and we are over it, and see right through it

seems to be that she's setting herself up and no one is giving her a reality check. if we don't get an album i'll scream. also we need a proper tour that's not derailed due to yet another damn pregnancy. i'd also love if her and usher co headlined the next superbowl that would be amazing. let's hope that we still get an album please don't put that kind of negativity out there i'd die lol
