Perhaps the most embarrassing thing I’ve ever seen: someone congratulating BTS for being #2 and the bots replying “thank you” as if BTS winning something means they personally won it as well :bibliahh:

Cuz it would have been better if a swiftie had written: "Ended BTSFAD" followed by BTS stans calling Taylor Tayble/white demon in the replies/qtweets ?:lakitu:

I see it as a qt attempt to keep it classy between 2 powerful fanbases.

I’ve seen much more embarrassing things….

Adele and Blackpink not being top 20 is very weird. I get them not being top 10, but :rip: I assume BP’s sales were reported incorrectly again? No other logical explanation. For Adele though it’s very surprising.

Only 2 women in the top 20 is definitely disappointing. Also surprised Justin and Ariana aren’t there tbh. Also also kinda thought aespa would be there somewhere but I guess they only had one release, so even though it smashed it wasn’t enough to get them there.

Adele sales were overestimated last year cause of shipments so it was expected for her to have low sales this year as they were already counted last year

Blackpink idk, Born Pink did kinda underperform but didn't know that to this extent

Well, it is kinda personal for them because they do mass streaming and mass purchasing. Keeping BTS high on the charts is a project for them like I've never seen with any other fanbase.

It's not "overestimated," it's just shipments. The IFPI "pure sales" numbers have always been shipments for all artists. It's not fair to say they do that just with Adele. They go by whatever numbers all the labels give them. They don't verify the sales. But yes, the impact all went for last year's chart.

Cancel culture is so dead. People really don't care about anything that the artists do in their private lives.

Exactly which is why it’s so embarrassing they’re literally living through the band and think BTS’s achievements are their own :gaycat7: mental illness !

right because saying “BTSFAD” is extremely equivalent to body shaming a woman that has been vocal about her struggles with ED (Not to forget the weird white demon take either). Falling right on line, bot :deadvision:

Those were just examples of common drags I hear about these artists on twitter. And let's not act like whenever asian acts pop up in those lists weird comments are not made here about them on ATRL, a place that's supposedly more enlightened than twitter.

Be perched for tomorrow, gurls:

As It Was should be #1, unless there's a big shocker out of nowhere.

NBA Youngboy being higher than Lil Baby & Kendrick Lamar globally lol

Taylor, The Weeknd, Bad Bunny & Harry :clap3:

Honestly who is #9?? :deadbanana2:

Beyonce, Adele & Blackpink nowhere to be found :rip: yikes!

2022 was very male dominated… however 2023 seems to be ruled by Females so far

All the "30" units were reported in 2021 and her 2022 streaming wasn't that big.

I'm more surprised about Blackpink though because they released a new album in 2022

Harry at #8 with his ridiculously small discography. :clap3:

I'm afraid not. The Weeknd is blowing up massively. Bad Bunny still going strong. Morgan Wallen is coming and might even go global this time. Ed Sheeran perhaps cooking up another album. Maybe Justin Bieber. The Kid Laroi's album could do damage. Ofc I hope Miley smashes with the album too. But it's like only Taylor who can really compete with the men rn.

Taylor and the weeknd, global legends :clap3:

Beyonce N/A

Honestly, I don't think Renaissance will be in the top 10. Considering the top 10 for artists, we're most likely getting 3 asian albums: Proof (BTS), Face The Sun (Seventeen), Greatest Works Of Art (Jay Chou). As for the 7 others, I would say Midnights, Harry's House & Un Verano Sin Ti are on lock. That would leave 4 other albums and there's still Drake (Certified Lover Boy might be there?) + other albums that kept selling last year.

Maybe on pure? Idk what were her shipments for Renaissance.
