Bethenny Frankel Posted May 9, 2023 Posted May 9, 2023 I'm shocked this is doing so well on US radio considering her only real "hit" here is Black Widow
Gerry I Shot Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 You think the performance is going to help it blow up?

It aired during the break for voting in the first Semi Final. She might have had some chance if she played the actual Eurovision Grand Final but nobody is going to be checking for her from the semi final. I can’t believe people were hyping her Eurovision performance and it not be on the actual night of Eurovision

Most people watch each night, die-hard ESC fans especially. The contest is being held in the UK so British folks are definitely tuning in which is her main target audience anyway
Nashe Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 The Shazam chart is definitely proof that ppl hear it on the radio all across Europe and Australia. And ppl definitely shazamed it yesterday night too Spoiler Shazam: #13 Croatia #15 Norway #17 Finland #19 Ireland #26 Netherlands #26 United Kingdom #27 Sweden #34 Australia #35 Israel #43 New Zealand #44 Denmark #47 Belgium #63 Switzerland #67 Czech Republic #72 Italy #81 Portugal #101 United Arab Emirates #108 Poland #110 Austria #114 Spain #166 Worldwide #193 Greece
YoungDreamer Posted May 10, 2023 Author Posted May 10, 2023 I think it was good exposure regardless and even though the ATRL norm is diminish everything that she does, she didn't performed on UK television since 2021 so it was the best TV gig she could get apart from the final itself (late night talk shows are not happening there), and it was aired on other countries too, so a win is a win and it feels like she put some real effort this time compared to YOLM. Will this work? Maybe won't, but she did everything she could and outside the major label system. Mogul tingz.

Nashe Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 the weak streaming numbers are due to bad playlisting since she is on BMG, an independent label which works radios very well but aren't strong in the streaming department unlike major labels. That's sad cuz Praising You really has everything to become a legit hit...

The game is just rigged in their favor.

I wish streaming was also catching up but if even eurovision didn't helped this, nothing will imo.
haimpedro Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 oh i really thought this was going to be huge in the uk
Scandalous Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 damn they really let this obvious smash go to waste like that?

Radio exposure, great music video, ESC performance. It's an independent label with no streaming pull which is crucial to get a hit.... She should've stayed on a major label, but it is what it is now. The album will do horribly if no miracle happens
Laura Palmer Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 Wish they had interpolated the sample more-so in the dance break, feel like that would have improved the song (for me at least) Still can’t get over how the UK just discard their pop girls (even though there are countless examples) There’s absolutely no reason why this shouldn’t be smashing right now.
