G.U.Y. Gaga Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 There was just a heated argument about this. particularly poultry as I black person I was taught to (although logically I understand why you wouldn’t lol) and all my friends didn’t even realize people do lol. I don’t know about other cultures though
Tropez Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Oh that meat. Do you wash your steak? Ground beef? Bacon?

liam13 Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Yes, with salt. Tho we buy meat in markets where it's represented without protection/wrap so it's only right. I've never bought meat in supermarket so idk but if i did, i'd prolly wash it too.
EtherealCat Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 no, you are just splashing germs all over your kitchen
Leptine Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Not sure what this thread is about. If you mean meat to eat, I never heard or saw people washing it, not even sure how you can do it, in general it's inside box and the cooking process should destroy eventually germs, then again I don't eat meat since 10 years so I might be out of the loop.. If you mean that meat, no matter what culture, you should always wash-clean it daily.
State of Grace. Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Yes. We wash it with vinegar/lime/salt.

cockatoo Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 No that's spreading germs around your kitchen for no reason (2). Cooking meat is enough to kill any bacteria on it.
MonsterJohn Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Yes with vinegar lemon salt to remove the strong meat odor Don't let white people to tell you not washing the meat
GipJo Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 No, according to science, washing meat would spread germs.

Pendulum Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 Soaking the meat in water and vinegar is okay but we, in the Western world, do not have the need to do this. Washing the chicken under the faucet is not okay. The water splashes chicken juice all over and we know what that equals. Preaching that people should wash their meats is the same as getting offended due to the lack of seasoning - ignorance. The only time I'd wash meat is when a porkchop has bone fragments/particles on the meat.
selena_lavigne Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 if i like someone's meat, i'll suck it even if it tastes weird.
selena_lavigne Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 you know that type of after the gym sex? yummy.

In here there's more the controversy thread of cooking or not wurstel (german sausages) since a lot of people think that they're ready to eat and last year some people died in here because they eat not cooked ones.
youcallingmyname Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 No as it can spread germs and there’s more cleanup involved.
Illuminati Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 No but I would probably be slightly less disgusted by raw meat if I washed it. I'll try the vinegar thing sometime
wastedpotential Posted February 11, 2023 Posted February 11, 2023 No, because the cooking process kills anything that might have needed to be washed off.
