BrentB Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 Maybe I'm heavily out of the loop, but I can't think of any mass-influential public figures that we have on our side that can stand up to the likes of Candace Owens and Ben Shapiro. And I think it's about HIGH time that the left, and the LGBT in general, start to do this en masse. We gotta back political commentators that have a controlled, sensible and non-problematic, image and history, who WATCHES the other side's EVERY move and sensationalizes all their shortcomings to hell and back. The sitting duck syndrome is kinda not doing it for me. Like we really need those sharp tongued, witty personalities that will tell it like it is in a rapid-fire, matter-of-fact way. We gotta fight fire with fire out here and take some control back of our narratives and collective image.
JonginBey Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 We don’t need those two period. Highly confused as to why their mothers didn’t abort them; but since it’s too late, then I suppose so.
Communion Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 (edited) These don't exist in any meaningful way in the US because the American "left" tries to be left yet anti-socialist. It WAS easier for many years to be a leftist and get on Fox News (because they thought they could dunk on you) to present your views thn on MSNBC or CNN. This has changed for Fox in recent years, with them no longer bringing leftists on (cause it was obviously backfiring) yet these voices still aren't being platformed in "liberal" media. You're more likely to see a lobbyist on CNN who calls Candance Owens awful but then says Dems need to stop giving trans folk attention and defending them to not alienate the mythical moderate. Every Third Way weirdo said the Virginia governor's race in 2021 was evidence that LGBT people were a losing issue yet the same playbook didn't work for the GOP in 2022. Danny789 Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 There’s simply not a platform that will have them because CNN, MSNBC, etc are still bought. They’ll have an extreme right election denier/conspiracy theorist before they have a true progressive commentator. Just so they can say “look how crazy they are” so people believe Anderson Cooper when he says that we can’t afford Universal Healthcare or that our politicians aren’t owned by donors.
RussianRoulette Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 I mean sure. There is room for everybody. I like Candace, she's smart, charismatic, witty and funny. I disagree with most of what she's saying, especially recently but I do watch her still. Ben is just annoying.

Pitbullek Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 I like Ben, he's actually very smart, but I don't think you'll get it, ATRL

GraceRandolph Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 Yes. Grace Randolph should debate them. Maybe Marianne Williamson could fill this space with a hippie twist if her presidential bid fails?

Bloodflowers. Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 Have you watched the recent Ana Kasparian and Ben Shapiro debate? It was very well done and what Ana does has class to it, I'll say that she needs to be on The View or on CNN and MSNBC but we all know why she won't be

I like strong independent women, especially a woman who comes from a minority regardless of the field they practice. Like I said above, I don't agree with everything she's saying but I have respect for her. She made it in a enviroment where minorities are not taken into consideration that much. But she made it, she became one of the most popular conservative by her own. If that's not american dream then I don't know what is.
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted February 9, 2023 Posted February 9, 2023 Well as long as these people have a mic, dress professional and repeating the conservative talking points, the right wing audience will eat it up I mean just look at some people in this thread unironically calling Candice Owens and Ben Shapiro "smart" and "charismatic"
