Chemist Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Reminder that profit and jobs truly trump any cultural wars happening at the moment
LadyDiana Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 The StAtEs are really a complex state/society. I sometimes wonder... never mind
Bosque Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Probably because California, the only blue state which is massively pre-disposed towards using solar, actually made their developments 10 years ago?
If U Seek Amy Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 I live in Ohio. While Ohio is a big red state, I wouldn't think of this as a red state being pro-solar. We get tons of advertisements and reimbursements/savings from the federal government both as individuals and businesses for going solar. It's moreso a federal push than a statewide push. Also, sales people are extremely aggressive here rn trying to get people to go solar. The state level government isn't doing so really
Bang Up Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Just shows the hypocrisy of Republicans lol. There have been massive pushes for solar in red states bc the feds are offering huge tax incentives. Republicans will get solar panels installed to save money while at the same time screaming about how climate change isn't real and solar power is killing Americans.
harwee Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Yeah advertisements are all over the place. Culture wars be damned if people are making money. Its happening in the south too.
Likingstars Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 I think its because Red states are most likely Southern states where sun is more available?
nadiamendell Posted February 8, 2023 Posted February 8, 2023 Solar power development but what about solar power installations? Solar is big business right now so of course these states are welcoming the business with open arms.

Ohio and Indiana are not Southern states. Also, I live in Indiana and winters are so depressing here. We barely get any sun. Edited February 8, 2023 by nadiamendell
