Caroline Polachek is releasing her album on Valentine's Day so she might snatch it with one of the album tracks. But maybe Caroline can get BNA and Lana can get BNT if they stan

My opinion: it started out being called “American Wh*re” but that is explicit for streaming obviously and she didn’t want it to have to be censored, so she just called it AW (which we saw on a previous iteration of the tracklist from merch she posted on social media). However this looked too much like she was saying Aw like “Awww” so she wanted to change it to something else. Lana is known to amend titles to fit American cultural references. For example, Cinnamon girl is called that (even though she never says that phrase in the track) bc it references another song by Neil Young. Also the song Sweet Caroline never features that phrase, however it calls back to the famous song “Sweet Carolina” bc we know she loves America and likes to make references. So I think she called it A&W bc it is still the initials American Wh*re but it also make one think of “A&W Root Beer” which is a famous American root beer, and fits with the vein of “Diet Mtn Dew” and “Cola” being other tracks from her

If her team is smarter than we think (sadly they're not), they'd make the single cover the nude pic she posted but covered up similar to what they did with the National Anthem single cover (lots of Marilyn parallels too).

Yes, she's done it for almost every song she put out before the album. Or use a screencap for the music video she shot for it

I was thinking about it, and I actually have high hopes for this song. We are used to, with each album, having one kind of flop or underwhelming single, followed by an amazing iconic one. For example, w NFR! MAC was definitely underwhelming at the time for a lot of people, but it was followed by VB which was instantly huge and iconic and got people really excited for the era. Similarly with chemtrails, LMLYLAW versus the title track had the same impact. The only album that didn’t really have that was BB, bc Arcadia coming after the triple single was still kind of a flop  but yeah, I feel A&W following the title track will follow a similar format
