Mike91 Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 South Carolina going first is just as stupid as having Iowa go first.
Vermillion Posted February 4, 2023 Author Posted February 4, 2023 New Hampshire raised a fit apparently Much good that did....
Mike91 Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 (edited) They need to get rid of only one or two states voting anyways at a time and just do around 12 states over the course of a month so the damn thing isn't dragged out for months unnecessarily. The whole process is outdated. Edited February 4, 2023 by Mike91
MAKSIM Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 Georgia, New Hampshire and Nevada should go first. Gives diversity on electoral makeup, geography, and issues. Major plus that they are all swing states. South Carolina going first because it handed Biden the win makes zero sense. It’s not a swing state and is a total waste for 2028 candidates next cycle to spend months campaigning there only to lose 10-15 points in the general election.
ATRL Moderator Azulito Posted February 4, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted February 4, 2023 Feb 3 is less than a year away They really should try pushing the calendar BACK, elections take up way too much time nowadays. Primaries in Aug/Sep with the general in Nov would be perfect imo. 1 hour ago, MAKSIM said: Georgia, New Hampshire and Nevada should go first. Michigan (or Pennsylvania) makes more sense than New Hampshire. They can fume.
byzantium Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 (edited) You should have a battleground state go first. Having a deep red state like Iowa or SC go first makes no sense. At least Iowa is close to a bunch of purple state and is more likely to have a better understanding of what battleground voters are looking for. The best states for an early primary are probably Nevada, New Hampshire, or Wisconsin. Edited February 4, 2023 by byzantium
Distantconstellation Posted February 4, 2023 Posted February 4, 2023 South Carolina is only going first because biden won it. Why even focus on a red state like Iowa or South Carolina. A true diverse state would be Nevada.
