Gossip_Boy Posted Friday at 06:38 AM Posted Friday at 06:38 AM (edited) I genuinely don't get the cheesy etc criticisms I've been seeing. It's a Superman movie, it's supposed to be all those things lol. I'm personally extremely tired of "grounded" and "realistic" superheroes (although I do love Battinson). I'm not sure how this DCU era is going to go down (they do have a very uphill battle as the DC brand is at the lowest it's ever been) but I, for one, am just glad there's finally someone in charge that will deliver fun superhero movies that are not ashamed or afraid to be fun superhero movies. One of the (many) problems DC has had in the past is putting people that have a distain for comic books in charge of comic book movies. I'm glad at the very least this is changing. Exactly, Superman is supposed to be the upbeat boy scout and Gunn really needs to focus on the heartfelt message. Especially now that the world is turning to ****. It kinda reminds me of how people currently criticize Disney's Snow White, but when it came out it was a box office smash, mainly because people needed the escapism from the great depression 1 1

They only show up for event movies and you can't keep doing event movie after event movie, etc or you'll ruin your future and actual event movies. Superman is an event and people care because it's the beginning of something promising. DC fans getting brave again. Lol. You guys NEVER fu*king learn . A quick reminder: 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted Friday at 03:51 PM Posted Friday at 03:51 PM (edited) The world is Ready! In comparison captain America; Brave new world trailer had 21 M views and thunderbolts 17M. These were the last 3 Superhero movie trailers this year. But I thought CBM were over 🤭 but yeah this is gonna have to do man of steel numbers. I think 650M -700M will be the total at the end of the day Edited Friday at 04:59 PM by Gorjesspazze9 1 1

I think 650M -700M will be the total at the end of the day Gunn already debunked this months ago (the budget I mean). Not even DC movies which had extensive reshoots came remotely close to that number. If I had to guess I would say realistically it's probably closer to the GOTG3. Around 250M or so. 2

Sorry for the misinformation, I should have double fact checked it
poki Posted Friday at 06:07 PM Posted Friday at 06:07 PM This ad played before my watch of Sonic 3 today (GO SEE IT!!) and it really hit me in that environment. Costume looks fantastic, the blue and red really pop. Glad we'll have some scenes of the adoptive family too. Sweet and wholesome. Villians look awesome, that blonde bob cut is just enough goof to still feel classic Superman-ish and not come off as a parody to me. Dog is a 10/10 choice for the movie. Man's best friend, Superman's best friend. Got great vibes for this movie since day 1, I will be extremely heartbroken if it's not good. Don't even care about box office, I just want a new Superman movie that moves me He's always been my favorite superhero. Matchbox Twenty's Real World is my dream credits track choice. 2
John Slayne Posted Friday at 06:12 PM Posted Friday at 06:12 PM as someone who is tired of superhero films (and was mostly a marvel movie fan anyway), i'm kind of intrigued. the colour palette in the trailer looks good and refreshing, it's not the corny 'dark' portrayal but it's also not giving tacky marvel either (think Guardians or Thor 3) not sure if i'll be bothered to actually see it in cinema but the first trailer is really not bad, i think the movie has the potential to be the best superhero film of the last few years
Magic_boXX Posted Friday at 11:13 PM Posted Friday at 11:13 PM I think the reason why DC movies has been soo dark is because the success of the Dark Knight. They wanted to capture that "mature" audience. 1

I really loved this trailer you can tell Gunn has put a lot into it. Also I'll never understand why DC and Marvel stans bicker, both companies thriving will only help the other. 2

Lightbringer007 Posted Saturday at 01:02 AM Posted Saturday at 01:02 AM hope they are able to continue hyping the movie and not wait till the last minute to promote it
Gossip_Boy Posted Saturday at 01:15 AM Posted Saturday at 01:15 AM I still think the release date was a mistake and should've moved. It being sandwiched between Jurassic World Rebirth and Fantastic Four going to make things a bit challenging but if the movie is genuinely good (not fine, or cute or passable. Like really good) then I think it's going to do perfectly fine. The positive reception to the teaser trailer shows there's still interest and there's people still rooting for DC. 1
Broken Posted Saturday at 01:57 AM Posted Saturday at 01:57 AM Found this on the Box Office subreddit: 1 million likes on YouTube seems to be a very reliable way to predict a successful CBM. Much moreso than views. MCU movies that reached 1 million likes: Avengers Infinity War Avengers Endgame Spider-Man Far From Home Spider-Man No Way Home Thor: Love & Thunder Black Panther Black Panther: Wakada Forever Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Captain Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 Deadpool & Wolverine DC movies that reached 1 million likes: The Dark Knight Wonder Woman Justice League Aquaman Joker The Batman Sony/Fox movies that reached 1 million likes: Deadpool Deadpool 2 Logan X-Men: Days of Future Past Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse So basically, other than Black Widow(COVID), Justice League is basically the only CBM whose trailer reached over 1 million likes and wasn't successful. 2 1

Bhabylon Posted Saturday at 02:08 AM Posted Saturday at 02:08 AM Finally, a comic book movie without that stale ass color grading 1
Triton Posted Saturday at 02:15 AM Posted Saturday at 02:15 AM Honestly just tired of Superhero films, the dog was cute but give it a rest. Then again if it's propaganda to the military and patriotism the basics will eat it up. I honestly hate the easy go funny lame jokes Guardians delivered but Americans love it. It's such a cheesy cop out. But Murica!
