perfectillusion204 Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 It's honestly so disappointing that the US loves him. And it's even sadder that he only got bigger after the controversy There is NO need for anyone to release a 36 track album... ever. I wouldn't even want a 36 track album from my favs. At least with pop music, you could make a 36 track album and have each song sound different, if you wanted to. You literally can't do that with country, there's only so many acoustic guitars you can use lol. I don't know any of his music but I heard some previews of new songs and I guess he's trying to throw some hip-hop beats over country lyrics and it's just... not it. Idk if that's always been his style. Either way, a disappointing day in music in the US.
Polgg48 Posted March 3, 2023 Posted March 3, 2023 summery take and not going back to album again... disc A is the weakest one, guess he has traditional/mature side to show but bland and non-commercial at all (imo reason why album slowly take off). disc B is radio hits thing, in the bible is fine, neon star is too kane brown, and Me + All Your Reasons is mediocre ok. disc C the best one, no fillers from thinkin bout me to dying man. weakest one is cowgirl but his music peaked here songwriting visibly improved from dangerous, unfortunately album is good imo.
Ger Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 Apple Music - 9 songs in the Top 10 - 17 songs in the Top 20 - 36 songs in the Top 50 He's certainly... dominating.

So people flock to Morgan Wallen even if they don't like it so much. Especially the male country singers have been lacking lately. He's filling that void. I don't think that all country fans are racist. They just don't have anyone or anything else to listen to these days. Edited March 4, 2023 by anti-bitch

Starkboy Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 I have no idea what makes him so special to americans compared to the rest of country artists.

Doesn't seem a casuality he's basically the only country artist (with shania but i mean she's 60) signed to Republic records...the same label of streaming monsters like drake, taylor, the weeknd, ariana, post malone So definitely the difference he has a label who knows how to own the game in every format, while other country artists have not this. There's definitely more modern and young sentiment attached to his music, there weren't many artists like him. But still his music is not that good for sure. I listened to 5 songs only to keep up what's popular these days and they're basic af. Zach Bryan >>>>

All of the "yee-haw" states in the US are filled with mostly white supremacists. Yes I'm exaggerating but you get the point lol

perfectillusion204 Posted March 4, 2023 Posted March 4, 2023 It seems like Spotify isn't the biggest fan of him... Normally on the Spotify charts website, there's a few banners & one of them is always "____ has the most spots with 30 songs..." but none of the banners have Morgan's stats anywhere Thank you Spotify for not (fully) promoting this racist!!
Protocol Posted March 5, 2023 Posted March 5, 2023 Reaching the halfway point and my God is this a decline from Dangerous. Granted, the bar was very high but this is BAD. The hooks are not hitting. Nothing so far is even as good as mid tier Dangerous. He is in DIRE need of an editor and quality control. If he doesn't get that together for album #4, what does his career in won't be the racist scandal, it will be awful music.

It wouldn't be the first time ATRL hates something but it smashes anyway. But I'd like to hear more variety in music and the lyrics themes for sure.
