Spotify: Katy 10 songs over 400k / 7 over 500k streams daily. Why?

The so called “over” artist is getting new streaming peaks despite not releasing new music in more than two years. Why is that?

Why? Because she was the face of early 2010s pop music and is the short lived queen of radio fodder music but failed to keep up with the times. All her big hits during her short reign nearly 10 years ago are still streamed by the audience because they were massive at one point!

But hey, she said it herself, she's 'fabulous for a throwback'!

It’s so weird that people treat Katy as the biggest flop recently but I see she’s doing pretty fine.

The logical fan in me would assume it’s because Spotify is consistently growing it’s user base, therefore resulting in more streams overall but the stan in me says it’s because talent always wins and the gp knows good music when they hear it :jonnycat:

Love both but it’s so funny how monsters claim streams like these for 3 Gaga songs are proof of her being remembered but still call Katy a flop and forgotten when most of her discography does those numbers and better :jonny6:

Wow, Kelly's impact at getting TOTGA to #1 on her list :WAP:

Great for a throwback but y'all already knew that. Start a "Katy Perry streaming thread" if it's this good though!

She was unstoppable from 2010 to 2014 with hit after hit. It only makes sense that these huge hits still get good consistent streams. No one really calls her "over' as you state in the OP because of the performance of her older songs, rather they do because of her more recent songs.

However, in the age of social media & streaming, even if your new material flops, you'll Never be Really Over.mp3

Weird how she has those stats, but is no where near top 10 streamed females. i guess her actual eras and albums are forgotten. This is cute though

Good, catchy and listenable music. Certain girlie with acclaimed music can't relate.

public reception >>> critics opinion the real world don't give a **** about

How does that change the fact that she will probably never have a hit era again though :rip: I mean I like her but she used to be a massive hitmaker not even that long ago so the numbers aren't surprising...
