byzantium Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Wow that is amazing!!! It would be nice if she could surpass Drake in a couple years too. I wish new female artists would release more music. We all know Rihanna should be on this list but she retired. Dua also waits a long while to release music.

The point is men are strongest in thegenres where people want to listen an entire album. To became this big you need that. Ed was surpassed cause after 3 albums very strong in this sense with the last 2 albums he failed to achieve this, only some big single but no organic streams for the albums. Releasing 2 hits with more than 2 B streams every year is not enough if then the other album tracks get 50M streams in 5 years. I see Billie as someone can enter the top 10 on the next years. She is still is very young and people listen her album tracks too. Also people always found hidden tracks and they get viral. For the next album she needs a little bit of reinventation and something more fun and pop (and new producers).
KeshaSwift Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 This i just unbelievable , considering her spotify history. What a legend.
Gladiator Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 I hope everyone else on the list continues to surpass Ed as well.
Chartman Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 I think Taylor is the second best selling album artist (pure) to debut this century, behind Adele. She is one of the best selling artist in digital single sales. One of the most watched artists on Youtube. For a long time she got criticism for her weak Spotify numbers. But now she is #3 in this department and still growing. Amazing.
Taylena Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 She could've been #1 if the boycott until 2017 never happened. 1989 alone would add another 10B streams to her current tally.
