Quote Thank You Pony, Patrick, Justin, Jake, Miles & Gent. This wouldn’t have come true without you guys. Another thank you to: Justine Skye, Teezo, Nick Hakim, Mac Demarco, Alex G, Ariel Pink, Daniel Ceaser, Princess Foushee, & The Legend Diana Gordon… whom has her own amazing catalog you should all check out.
mystery Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 The album is great, I am surprised how well produced it is and Magdalena Bay being on it as well.
Dr. Alexander Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 It’s absolutely incredible and will definitely influence the genre. I have been telling users on this site that this is the year where the sound of the decade is established. Everyone else kept saying 80s-influenced pop will reign based off of 2019-2021, but I was saying it’s clearly going to be the singer-songwriter rock and alternative shtick from the 70s and 90s. This, in addition to Flowers and Kill Bill, just proves it.

I couldn't be more stoked for this because I adore the music of these time periods.

As we are progressing further into the decade, maximalism and vibrancy are coming back in full force. So I definitely see that being reflected in music. I feel we are heading towards lighter, brighter and poppy pop music again.

While 'Flowers' is more stripped than your usual pop song, it still has a vibrant production. The 70s and 90s had plenty of maximalist and vibrantly-produced songs (1970s: disco, euphoric rock; 1990s: euro-dance, house) during those eras and that is what I was and am referring to Plus, the thread you plucked my response from was regarding a question about the potential rise of dark pop in this decade...Now I am not so sure on how psychedelic rock and dark pop are the same thing
Bacardo Royale Posted January 28, 2023 Posted January 28, 2023 Nothing groundbreaking but nice background music
Chemist Posted January 30, 2023 Posted January 30, 2023 absolutely sh00k with this album. The glow up is MASSIVE. So many gems in this album I thought "Poland" was just a fluke
