Yes, he was stupid for that like many other people but he already died, so the poor dog will either be handed over to a family member or an animal shelter for adoption, which is either way sad because the dog will still be waiting for his owner unless he knows he's dead which is something dogs can know..

 

Also, dogs don't scratch, well at least not in the way cats do, I mean

The irony when every word you use to describe dogs is actually what it is to cats instead , because when it comes to cats, it doesn't take unintentional shootings - because of human stupidity - or an aggressive pitbull - because of old dog fights that were conducted by stupid humans - in order to be killed, it only takes a bacterial scratch to end your life aka melbourne grandmother..

 

Also, cats are cute too but they will never outsmart dogs, they are literally useless.
