she has a branding/image problem, not a problem with her music

The public has always had a problem reconciling Chloe's image with their expectation.

The album is good, if not groundbreaking, but how many groundbreaking albums have we heard in the past decade?

Sza and Sumer Walker's albums were pretty much true to form. The difference is the expectation aligned with the product.

Body do is cute, but none of the tracks stick the landing like the rest of the one-off singles (which weren't even on the album for whatever reason :toofunny3:)

Told Ya and Make it look easy really have substance to them. The rest are very mid and goes nowhere really with the potential they have. I was quiet excited for this through the entirety of last year but i don't know what happened here.

I will keep the 3/4 tracks i liked and that's it. Maybe it's my fault for expecting ungodly hour 2.0 poppified for 2023 :gaycat6:

I've been still enjoying listening to the whole album. I like the released singles much more now listening to them in the album.

I really hope she / her team considers releasing a version of the album w/ the scrapped singles bc it truly elevates the album listening experience

Just not a good album. Every song either has no personality or is trying too hard, like the artist singing it.

It's nowhere near the meaning of smash hit. It did a big noise on tiktok but it didn't translate to its numbers

one thing I like about Jacquel he ties his choreography to the artist and song. He also great at artist development.i was surprised he wasn’t working with Chloe from the beginning. Courtland doesn’t know how choreographed anyone that is not Doja. All his choreography look like Doja left overs and repetitive.
Parris would body this song. I think she might be the perfect choreographer for this song.

EXACTLY to this whole post.

Also how the sales prediction dropped? That’s just wow. I really wonder if Columbia will drop Chloe Bailey? Clearly no one wanted this album. It should have been an EP.

How is that a smash hit? It was a cute lil fall hit played on the radio

Stream wise it did ok early on, but radio carried most of its chartrun

I like I Don't Mind and HoMS.  I'd like IP more, but something about her vibrato in it is grating to me.

I feel like she’s carved her own lane with this project, I can’t think of any pop/R&B album similar to it.

Can't speak on Summer walker but SZA's brand of RnB and lyricism is not only distinct to her but also trending.

Chloe's album just feels so unremarkable, middle of road, which is really the opposite of what established her.

I don't think it's a bad album, but it is mid... and to serve a mid album that doesnt sit with your core fan base who is looking for more experimental crossover explains the responses and lack positive reception.

Parkwood has, multiple times.

No one follows parkwood :rip:

Anyways She's had so many promo spots, promo is not the problem. A song connecting with an audience is.

The tour she's about to start is obvioulsy meant to also pay for the album, they knew it wasn't going to make big numbers.

The 2 features on the album being Chris Brown and Future seems like such a misjudgement of her audience. Where are her peers?

I will say, if her label paid for a Future feature, they could have bought a Meg or Doja one. I’m not getting the decision making. Body Do with a big name female feature would have been enough to save the sales & generate interest.

This will help the album sales, especially if she adds the previous singles. I don’t know why she didn’t release a deluxe edition in the first place.
