Vrajesh Posted April 3, 2023 Share Posted April 3, 2023 (edited) Body do is cute, but none of the tracks stick the landing like the rest of the one-off singles (which weren't even on the album for whatever reason ) Told Ya and Make it look easy really have substance to them. The rest are very mid and goes nowhere really with the potential they have. I was quiet excited for this through the entirety of last year but i don't know what happened here. I will keep the 3/4 tracks i liked and that's it. The difference is the expectation aligned with the product. Can't speak on Summer walker but SZA's brand of RnB and lyricism is not only distinct to her but also trending. Chloe's album just feels so unremarkable, middle of road, which is really the opposite of what established her. I don't think it's a bad album, but it is mid... and to serve a mid album that doesnt sit with your core fan base who is looking for more experimental crossover explains the responses and lack positive reception. I will say, if her label paid for a Future feature, they could have bought a Meg or Doja one. I’m not getting the decision making.
