Don’t include Normani in your Chloe Bailey thinkpieces. Based on Normani’s leaks alone, she let HITS walk out the door. She got the material, just other mess is clearly at play over at RCA and her team. Chloe Bailey’s songs she teased that weren’t on the album didn’t sound much better than what is on the final tracklist. She basically threw out the best material as droplets then didn’t include them on the album. 4 hours ago, Saint James said: i think this is a universal struggle now that i myself feel as an artist. u can see it with nearly all young people in the industry. everything has been done and we have access to so much different culture and history all at once. they really need guidance from GOOD managers A&R etc but everyone wants full creative control now. That’s true but based on what I know about the music industry, managers are doing less than ever and getting paid more. Social media destroyed what A&R’s used to do which is connect artists for great in studio collabs. Now people are dm-ing a friend, friend records a verse, it gets emailed, and a (lifeless) collab done. Chloe just feels like a product of this era and those issues above. She really needed to ask Pharrell, The Dream, or someone else to produce a couple tracks on the album with her and help with hooks/writing.
ariesgroove Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 that user can continue to try to make a chlöe normani feud happen, it won’t. give it up. honestly, wasn’t expecting this album to do numbers like that, there was no big hit single. the one song she had that was one was have mercy, but no pre 2023 single made the cut. anyone could’ve seen this happening from a mile away. i don’t think she should be labeled as a flop or anything of the sort. yes, i do believe this project could’ve been better but it’s only up from here. hopefully the next time she has a solo endeavor, the record will have a clear and well thought out concept. in pieces isn’t terrible or awful but any means but i can see why people feel a bit disappointed

Stay on the topic. - Chloe should give Told Ya a lil video. The public loves it so far. Single material for sure but she should let Missy creative direct the video and choreography. Alternatively, Body Do video creatively directed by Missy, actual director can be Dave Meyers or Hannah Lux. Maybe a Body Do remix with Doja Cat too. The vision is there. wantedyoutogrow Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 if she never released the abomination that is Treat Me we wouldn't be in this boat
Escape Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 I really like Body Do. Not sure about the rest of the album though. Have Mercy should've been included on the album from the singles.
Brooklyn Baby Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 Why is Normani being talked about here Go talk about her in her album thread. Spoiler Oh wait
Brooklyn Baby Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 My top 5 so far: Cheatback Looze U I Don't Mind Told Ya Body Do

lovely88 Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 I don’t know why ppl were expecting this to do better than Ungodly hour. CxH as a group have a bigger fan base. I would say the predicted numbers are ok given her status.
OnMyCoolJ Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 Does she have any intentions on promoting the album now that it’s actually released? I know she did some promo last week leading up to it, but what is scheduled now? Ive seen no radio interviews besides the mess with Latto that was recorded 6 months ago.
Cloudy Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 (edited) Listened again this morning and I have to say, it's so unremarkable... It's not even that it's bad, it's just that it couldn't get more forgettable and bland as for R&B goes And the difference in quality and artistry it's even more aparent when you compare it with Ungodly Hour. And that's what Chloe seems to have been given too much of with her solo career. This album is now the result. Some artists are just better off being told what to do by execs until they get to a point where fully understand themselves as an artist and their sound.

Then you check on Wikipedia years later and you see it peaked at #112 on the Billboard 200 chart
liquiddiamonds Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 These girls need to STOP paying Future for half assed bad verses. Cheatback (Feat. Doechii) COULD’VE BEEN WOULD’VE BEEN SHOULD’VE BEEN
nuclear Posted April 2, 2023 Posted April 2, 2023 She going on tour soon. I don’t think we getting alot of promo. Is so frustrating we be waiting for artists like Chloe we let them flop
