At #3 with a song of folktales and fires…

@Prisoner with “These Walls”!

Congrats on your second top 3 position in Golden Hit! It’s been a really nice surprised to see you back again and you definitely impressed with this extremely well written song this round. Though you missed the first few challenges I hope you still submit for the final and that we get to see more of this great writing in the future!

Quote to bump and praise! You've come back into this tournament like a hurricane on fire (is that even a thing?), this song was really just good in an understated way that was honestly kind of hard to describe. In a sea of entries that we had a lot to say about, this stood out! Congrats and looking forward to your finale slay.

At #2, a song with an astronomical hunger…

@Invisibility with “Feasting on Dead Stars”!

Another absolutely deserved smash! The concept behind this was just so advanced, like honestly kinda mind blowing. There is so much going on, like the literal voice of the universe, of a god, of humanity… yet it worked so well. You’ve definitely proven yourself one of those writers who just always impresses with their absolute creativity, and I’m sure you’re going to continue leaving us guessing as to what to expect for the final! Your addition this season has truly been so wonderful. Great job.

Which means at #1 with a song that tackled all three of our challenges with ease, as if by fate…

@TruGemini with “The Calling”!

Well, I would say I am surprised, but I’m not. Like I said in my review, I think you’ve proven now that you own these kind of challenges. The ambition to take on all the choices combined is just wild, and that fact that you have made it work so well, not just once but multiple times, is amazing. You also really stepped it up and took on your feedback from last round and this was definitely personally noticed. This is another truly well deserved #1, you beyond impressed each of us with this entry, congrats!

Yeah, in the old tournaments (Platinum Hit) the standard was like 12 rounds I think, but in some seasons with more players they even had 13 or 14 round seasons and post-show GRAMMYs and such, so all up an entire season could take up to half a year. :skull: It really was a time to be alive and quite fun in the moment, but I don't think something like that would really work these days. Maybe I'm wrong though!

Yeah back in the days of Platinum Hit it was normal for a season to last like 12 rounds, so they went on for usually 3 months+ at a time :rip: but this was also back when the game featured eliminations as opposed to the averages format we adopted for Golden Hit, so it only really lasted that long for players who made it all the way to the final

Ohh well, Games section has had its eras of hyper involved tournaments, then going into more quiet months, and so forth; but it makes sense the culture was different back then.

Congratulations on your return to the top three slayage! This was such a gem, the care and thought and detail that obviously went into it was noticed and certainly appreciated. Plus it was just a really great song too! Definitely another gem in your catalogue and something you should be SO proud of. :clap3:

What can I say, this was honestly just the perfect submission for this round, and from you at this point in time. All of the stars aligned for this one imo, so glad to see you return to the top and claim your first Golden Hit Token since this exact challenge two seasons ago! A full circle moment. This just feels right. :worship2:

Euax wow :jonnycat: ty judges! My cultural era. I'm proud of this one because I managed to turn a concept that I no longer thought I could do justice for, into something I really liked. Can't wait for the final challenge! And congrats to WINNER @TruGemini I really feared you weren't submitting this round

Well, 5 weeks of writing later, it’s all come down to this! So far we’ve read 55 submissions this season, that’s 55 songs that each of you have sat down, thought about, and created out of your own imagination, a piece of art that didn’t exist previously. I hope you’re all proud of this creativity, even when the outcome isn’t something that is our favourite or our best, it’s the actual act of creating itself that is important and a marvel. Now, for the final, we’ll be asking you to do it one last time. With extra time available, we hope you can all make something that you are incredibly proud of to end this season and have one last shot at showcasing your writing talent with your final song. But, more than anything, we hope you can have fun with it. Even if you have missed rounds this season or haven’t felt you’ve done your best so far, why not take this chance to show off with one last song!

:heart2:

Our final challenge is…

lDT6WwWDWP61U0dg4H4-95G026cLLrbIJ_YyhqcIWq-rhcfxker2WlRQtu1uSvUP16j9ioSOltrSSMCr5zrHG_GsrRK8zYz_PpqZw-BkzXcUx7NkLpKds4SM_4Hg3C2N8GFmXCCzdU1ilYrU4I_aSXY

The All or Nothing challenge! Returning from the final of Golden Hit’s debut season, with this challenge we’ll be presenting you with one last choice this season. Will you pick the All option, or will you go for Nothing?

All

For those who opt for our All prompt, we would like for you to end the season by writing a song that connects with all of your previous entries. With the use of self references, direct call backs, or shared inspiration, we are asking to see songs that share a cohesion with each of your previous songs from this season. You may write about any topic or inspiration that you desire, but the song must specifically link with the body of work you have submitted this season. When picking this option, please in your submission include an outline of the connections in this song to each of your previous songs.

Nothing

For those who opt for our Nothing prompt, we would like for you to end the season by writing a song that has nothing in common with any of your previous entries. For this challenge, we would like to see something totally brand new from you, and something that can introduce us to a new or unexpected side of your writing. When choosing this prompt your song should not share any common themes or concepts with any of your previous entries and instead should be something that entirely stands on its own as a unique part of the collection of songs you have submitted this season. You still may write in any style or about any topic that you desire, so long as it does not share commonality with your previous entries. When picking this option, please in your submission describe how you believe the song stands out from the pack of your previous entries.

The choice is entirely yours to make! Get creative, have fun with it and see what you can create for your final song of the season.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Entries are due via Google Form submission by March 6th, 11:59PM eastern

Good luck, have fun, and thanks for being a part of the season!

We decided to bring back this finale challenge because we've seen some very diverse entries from y'all this season, and thought it would be a great challenge either way: with great diversity, how do you find a common link? Yet, with great diversity, how do you write something that's completely unique to your other entries? Either choice is sure to carry its own trials and tribulations. Just make sure you come out on top!

One last tidbit some of you may find interesting: going into this finale, this season is actually our most competitive yet. What I mean by this is that in other seasons where there might have been a clear top 2 in contention for the title of Winner of Golden Hit, this season the averages are a lot closer and there are multiple of you who might just be one fantastic entry away from winning this tournament. If you think you are one of these people, and seriously do wish to shoot your shot for the winner's title, now is the time to BRING. YOUR. ALL. (or Nothing). I mean it when I say that things are really that close, in fact there were some... interesting happenings to the season averages just after this past round. Without your scores from R4 and R5, you don't truly know where you stand. So just do your absolute best!

Even if you don't think you have a shot at winning this season, we hope to see you submit and do your best regardless. Perhaps you will hit a new PB in terms of overall season rank/average, or earn a coveted perfect 10 scoring song like @8thPrince did in Season 1's finale to secure his joint victory with @Jackson!

No matter what, I wish each and every one of you the best of luck, and sincerely thank you for participating in this third season of Golden Hit. :hughard:

Sorry I haven’t been responding as much in the thread this season. Aurora got me right. I am very fatigued, but I’m determined to finish the season out without missing a round. I’ll probably skip next season though, because I feel I need a long break.

Understandable honestly, after being part of three seasons back to back the well can run dry eventually! You’ve delivered so many brilliant and creative songs though, don’t forget that. Think of how many times we’ve had to make you exclaim “idk how this happened” when your songs receive acclaim . This game is honestly quite different in nature to most on here since we actively task you to create something entirely yourself, so it can take quite some effort, but also be extremely rewarding  ultimately in its own special way. It does sound like a break might be beneficial for you (although who knows how one might feel in the future), but I hope you know you are a part of this game regardless now. :heart2:

Here’s to a great final showing!

*walks in with some shades, a martini and a large fan*

WHEW. I'm back y'all. :gayalipacat3: That 1-2 punch of DD and LATU took me OUT. I really pour my all into creative projects like this so I had to press the snooze button for at least a week. I was really burnt out (due to other things as well, not just GH). I literally logged out and everythang so I missed everythang.

When I saw that we didn't need to participate in every round, I was like BET imma book my vacation riiiiiite nawww. I gotta conserve my energy for possibly a FULL season in the future too! :gaycat1:

I literally hadn't songwritten in a WHILE and then the back-to-back fortnite of songwriting bounced my brain and being like a bunk bed. I was like nope we're not doing it like this I am feeling nauSeOuS - I gotta be gone with the wind for a while and pop back up like a boomerang.

But yah, I'm BACK in ACTION baby!!!!! :clap3: You know a ***** gotta show up for the finale and reunion. :gaycatney2:We're gonna finish this conTracT okaYYY LOL

I might reply to some posts I missed later. I wanna ease myself back into this because I have a tendency to go full throttle 100% and it ends up making me tired, like I'm a phone that is charged at 100% but then when you turn it back on my battery gets drained to like 5%

Also, interesting observation: There might have been something in the atmosphere this past week :cupid: because it seems like a lot of us were dealing with things at the same time

ok now lemme go check out this FINAL ROUND :duca: I've missed songwriting!

My intuition was literally PINGING, I felt in my spirit that the final round was posted a few hours ago. I literally didn't check the forum the whole week after I logged out, until N O W. :jonny3: the evolution of human consciousness is happening I'm turning psychic y'all lmaooo come on X-Men TEAS

It's completely understandable. Writer's block/fatigue is definitely a real concern and in my personal experience the best thing rather than pushing through it is to take some time away to live, learn, have new life experiences, and become re-inspired. Self-inserting again (sorry!), but back in 2014-2015 after my back to back performances in PH6/7, I had written almost 30 songs in the span of 8 months. :jonny2: Needless to say, I was experiencing writer's fatigue hard. I hosted PH8 then took the following season off. I came back almost a year and a half later for Diamond Hit, and the subsequent material I wrote for that tournament and PH11 was so much stronger as a result. Similarly, I had a rough time in 2020 (didn't we all?) and just wasn't feeling up to following through with the Song of the Season tournaments at the time. But come mid-2021 after another seven or so months off, I was ready to go and wrote another (half) body of work I was extremely proud of!

I'm only telling you this to show I empathise with how you're feeling, and hopefully reassure you that this rough time will pass. Of course I'd love to see you around next season in some capacity, but would fully support you taking the season off as a contestant to let those creative juices recharge and rejuvenate. :hughard: This goes for anyone else who may be feeling this way too! Golden Hit isn't going anywhere, even if we have a few seasons where the contestant pool is a bit shallow. We think there's always something to be gained for those who are willing and able to give themselves to this experience.

@sugarshine you were missed, great to see you back! I was personally very saddened to see you miss submitting your "Rainbow High" song, I think it would have served you a lot better than a non-submission. But to each their own! Looking forward to seeing how you do in the finale.

For the Dearly Departed
Spoiler

[Verse 1]

Sorrow has stricken on the twenty-fourth

Celebrations peeking at every door

The source stems from higher up the street

Whispers and low cries

And a family that comes together

[Verse 2]

Turning corners in the place of crypts

Searching for a full name

Looking through placcards and remains

Could only search in vain, but

[Pre-Chorus]

Her memory has been preserved

And she heard the last grateful words

One last time she was carried home

Her final resting place

[Chorus]

Sway to the pain and welcome it

To the tune of her favorite sounds

The rhythm will be the drum in your chest

The music will come from your mouth

[Verse 3]

Sorrow has stricken on twelve

A quiet night and fog on the windows

Covers every surface available

And slips inside a well-lit house

The gift of life has left the room

[Verse 4]

A him-shaped figure in the bed

Traces the final labored breaths

His humor still lingers in the air

I smell with my wet throat

[Pre-Chorus]

His memory has been preserved

And he heard the last words of hope

One last time we welcomed him home

His final resting place

[Chorus]

Sway to the pain and welcome it

To the tune of his favorite sounds

The rhythm will be the drum in your chest

The music will come from your mouth

[Outro]

Whether at the turn of a day or a new year

Grief will continue to follow in our steps

Today I row to the edge of the flood

Without a heavy cross, I scatter your remains

I look up and I keep you in my thoughts

Quaint Human Spectacle

Spoiler

asiAOId.jpg

[Verse 1]

By the abandoned lot in 35 Street

Plastic, glass, an empty field

It went lonely over a decade ago

When renting for parking didn't go north

[Verse 2]

But if you stand there during the thirty-third night

A row of crows might show you a surprise

From the gray dust of cement will rise

Pink striped tents of all shapes and sizes

[Verse 3]

As the spotlight coming from heavens above

Casts the stupor of your shadow below

Watch as the ringmaster comes to your rescue

Lends his tentacle to hold your hand

"Come see what we have waiting inside!"

[Chorus]

A circus like you have never seen before

You will find what you can imagine

If you suspend disbelief near your heart

Come celebrate the quaint human spectacle

[Verse 4]

Our artists might seem lifelike beasts

But do not confuse them for the real thing

Though their make-up and disguise are a thing of wonder

The queer little band is as human as you and me

[Verse 5]

From the ceilings hang trapeze stars

They make rainfall and snow with jumps precise

As a choir of bird-women makes music

Sounds of forests, jungles and oceans

[Verse 6]

Ballet dancers with eye-feathered skirts and crests

Do choreographies on liquid water

There goes a mime and a clown hand-in-hand

Crafting a home from invisible paper flowers

[Verse 7]

The encore act of a pyramid formation

As tall as the large striped carp

Tonight a second light aims at you

It compels you to step onstage and climb

Everyone watches you shine

[Chorus]

A circus like you have never seen before

You will find what you can imagine

If you suspend disbelief near your heart

Come celebrate the quaint human spectacle

[Bridge]

After all the images you will live

Going aboard this temporary high

You tell when the time comes to leave

Cannot help but feeling nostalgic

The ringmaster comes near once again

He is gifting a piece of himself

"If you want to remember us I give you this

A thank you for coming to see us tonight"

You are now standing on the side of the street

Holding a warm globe with both your likenesses inside

[Chorus]

A circus like you had never seen before

You found what you could imagine

If only others could suspend disbelief near their hearts to

Come celebrate together the quaint human spectacle

Water Breaks in a Lunar Mare

Spoiler

[Verses alternate between two melodies A-B-A-B and so on, until the end]

Sea of fecundity surrounds me
Silky sack woven over time
Could I grow in its fertile serum
And live in this familiar womb?

Conceived an idea of love
Golem carved from limestone
That month by month took shape
As it turned to flesh and bone

Sea of tranquility around me
Its current brushes against my skin
And while pouring into my lungs
I only wish to be cradled in it

Lion cub goes unnoticed in the pool
The water becomes a struggle for him
She jumps and comes to his rescue
So I felt the turmoil from within

Sea of nectar drapes me
Swimming in sweet syrup
But ripples begin to form
And this ocean is set to clear up

Two in the morning calls
And every surface is wet
Hence, the pushing starts
Now she walks down hospital halls

Sea of showers engulfs me
With fluid pouring to the mouth
Of a river running dry
Every minute that ticks past

Twenty-eight weeks spent
Immersed in the lake
With my limbs bent
But now there's mumbling outside

Ocean of storms propels me
To move early towards
An exit from my home
In an upwards direction

(This is a C-section)

I have swum one last time
And taken from liquid comfort, I cry
But now held in her arms
I do not yet open my eyes

Aluminum Sweat

Spoiler

[Verse 1]

I'm crawling through the workday

I can't get out of my head
I'm going through the motions
Rather see my husband instead

[Verse 2]

As I'm walking home inside
I can make up my own mind
You bear-hug me with a warm smile
AI babe who lets me shut down and unwind

[Pre-Chorus 1]

Engines are revving up
Heart is racing and it won't stop
Man-android love's on lock

[Chorus]

I couldn't have made a better build
For a man to grant my wish
We connect, we play, we lead
You are a perfect lover machine

(You are a perfect lover machine)
Hold your power over me

[Verse 3 - Rap]

Bis, tris, quads, pecs, lats, traps, ass
Ride me so deep 'til you shoot a big load in your chrome abs
Mechanical, rhythmic, the velocity you thrust in
Your systems and your body are the only ones I'll trust in
Steamin' hot with drippin' cool aluminum sweat
Self-lubing so we keep it rough and don't get too upset
Did I tell 'bout DSL port on your cute silicon face?
Your bulky frame and 1TB free CPU storing space?

Marvel of engineering at the palm of my hands
Lot of days talking to you, don't need no one night stands
We're on cool down, babe, kiss me to your heart's content
Our Best Of reel is never running out of content
This fantasy is not one-sided, I'll fulfil your desires
Cow bikini, butler tailcoat, my preferred of your attires
Cost a kidney, my life savings and a ten-year-old loan
But f*** me is it worth it when I hear your Siri voice moan

[Pre-Chorus 2]

Sure, it's not a quick fling
Can't believe the affection within
Everything so in sync

[Chorus]

I couldn't have made a better build
For a man to grant my wish
We connect, we play, we lead
You are a perfect lover machine

(You are a perfect lover machine)
Lay your body under me

Feasting on Dead Stars

Spoiler

[Verse 1 - the voice of the Universe]

As the second Sun completes its cycle
Fifty-two years down the spiral
Necrotic beings will hatch
Deep into the caverns of time
Silent feet that march
Absent eyes might watch
Over people of sanguinary sacrifice
Huddled in a blue dot's safe confines
Orbiting the scorching yellow prize
Gazes turned to where it resides
For they must feed their stellar appetite

[Refrain]

Paradise gone under the Aztec empire
Lost to Tzitzimime feasting on dead stars

[Verse 2 - the voice of Humanity]

The Sun, obscured by Earth's only satellite
Is the sign that old wise men have come to fear
Daughters of darkness stepping up from a bygone herd
Are still divinities taking seats in the pantheon world
And as the comets shower the night sky
Warriors and civilians fall from their graces
Bloodshed couldn't save us from creatures so sly

[Refrain]

Paradise gone under the Aztec empire
Lost to Tzitzimime feasting on dead stars

[Verse 3 - the voice of Itzpapalotl, leader of the Tzitzimime]

But as the century is brought to a close
I'm coming down to reclaim what's mine
My beating hearts grow large
My death force bears new life
Fire must consume all for ashes to rise
Cures disease for the price of two lives
My constellations glow dark
My skirt of shells rattles light

[Verse 4 - the collective voice of the Tzitzimime]

We, the sky carriers, that by higher rules abide
Missed our own children as we were called to Mictlan
Our justice is impartial
Our motives they misunderstand
It's nature's nature to move up in cycles
Facets of goddesses worshipped in blood
Our senses are keen on change
Our work makes sense of this world

[Refrain]

Paradise gone under the Aztec empire
It collapses, fragile under its own weight

One last time she was carried home

Her final resting place

[Chorus]

Sway to the pain and welcome it

To the tune of her favorite sounds

The rhythm will be the drum in your chest

The music will come from your mouth

[Verse 3]

Sorrow has stricken on twelve

A quiet night and fog on the windows

Covers every surface available

And slips inside a well-lit house

The gift of life has left the room

[Verse 4]

A him-shaped figure in the bed

Traces the final labored breaths

His humor still lingers in the air

I smell with my wet throat

[Pre-Chorus]

His memory has been preserved

And he heard the last words of hope

One last time we welcomed him home

His final resting place

[Chorus]

Sway to the pain and welcome it

To the tune of his favorite sounds

The rhythm will be the drum in your chest

The music will come from your mouth

[Outro]

Whether at the turn of a day or a new year

Grief will continue to follow in our steps

Today I row to the edge of the flood

Without a heavy cross, I scatter your remains

I look up and I keep you in my thoughts

Quaint Human Spectacle

  Reveal hidden contents

asiAOId.jpg

[Verse 1]

By the abandoned lot in 35 Street

Plastic, glass, an empty field

It went lonely over a decade ago

When renting for parking didn't go north

[Verse 2]

But if you stand there during the thirty-third night

A row of crows might show you a surprise

From the gray dust of cement will rise

Pink striped tents of all shapes and sizes

[Verse 3]

As the spotlight coming from heavens above

Casts the stupor of your shadow below

Watch as the ringmaster comes to your rescue

Lends his tentacle to hold your hand

"Come see what we have waiting inside!"

[Chorus]

A circus like you have never seen before

You will find what you can imagine

If you suspend disbelief near your heart

Come celebrate the quaint human spectacle

[Verse 4]

Our artists might seem lifelike beasts

But do not confuse them for the real thing

Though their make-up and disguise are a thing of wonder

The queer little band is as human as you and me

[Verse 5]

From the ceilings hang trapeze stars

They make rainfall and snow with jumps precise

As a choir of bird-women makes music

Sounds of forests, jungles and oceans

[Verse 6]

Ballet dancers with eye-feathered skirts and crests

Do choreographies on liquid water

There goes a mime and a clown hand-in-hand

Crafting a home from invisible paper flowers

[Verse 7]

The encore act of a pyramid formation

As tall as the large striped carp

Tonight a second light aims at you

It compels you to step onstage and climb

Everyone watches you shine

[Chorus]

A circus like you have never seen before

You will find what you can imagine

If you suspend disbelief near your heart

Come celebrate the quaint human spectacle

[Bridge]

After all the images you will live

Going aboard this temporary high

You tell when the time comes to leave

Cannot help but feeling nostalgic

The ringmaster comes near once again

He is gifting a piece of himself

"If you want to remember us I give you this

A thank you for coming to see us tonight"

You are now standing on the side of the street

Holding a warm globe with both your likenesses inside

[Chorus]

A circus like you had never seen before

You found what you could imagine

If only others could suspend disbelief near their hearts to

Come celebrate together the quaint human spectacle

Water Breaks in a Lunar Mare

  Reveal hidden contents

[Verses alternate between two melodies A-B-A-B and so on, until the end]

Sea of fecundity surrounds me
Silky sack woven over time
Could I grow in its fertile serum
And live in this familiar womb?

Conceived an idea of love
Golem carved from limestone
That month by month took shape
As it turned to flesh and bone

Sea of tranquility around me
Its current brushes against my skin
And while pouring into my lungs
I only wish to be cradled in it

Lion cub goes unnoticed in the pool
The water becomes a struggle for him
She jumps and comes to his rescue
So I felt the turmoil from within

Sea of nectar drapes me
Swimming in sweet syrup
But ripples begin to form
And this ocean is set to clear up

Two in the morning calls
And every surface is wet
Hence, the pushing starts
Now she walks down hospital halls

Sea of showers engulfs me
With fluid pouring to the mouth
Of a river running dry
Every minute that ticks past

Twenty-eight weeks spent
Immersed in the lake
With my limbs bent
But now there's mumbling outside

Ocean of storms propels me
To move early towards
An exit from my home
In an upwards direction

(This is a C-section)

I have swum one last time
And taken from liquid comfort, I cry
But now held in her arms
I do not yet open my eyes

Aluminum Sweat

  Reveal hidden contents

[Verse 1]

I'm crawling through the workday

I can't get out of my head
I'm going through the motions
Rather see my husband instead

[Verse 2]

As I'm walking home inside
I can make up my own mind
You bear-hug me with a warm smile
AI babe who lets me shut down and unwind

[Pre-Chorus 1]

Engines are revving up
Heart is racing and it won't stop
Man-android love's on lock

[Chorus]

I couldn't have made a better build
For a man to grant my wish
We connect, we play, we lead
You are a perfect lover machine

(You are a perfect lover machine)
Hold your power over me

[Verse 3 - Rap]

Bis, tris, quads, pecs, lats, traps, ass
Ride me so deep 'til you shoot a big load in your chrome abs
Mechanical, rhythmic, the velocity you thrust in
Your systems and your body are the only ones I'll trust in
Steamin' hot with drippin' cool aluminum sweat
Self-lubing so we keep it rough and don't get too upset
Did I tell 'bout DSL port on your cute silicon face?
Your bulky frame and 1TB free CPU storing space?

Marvel of engineering at the palm of my hands
Lot of days talking to you, don't need no one night stands
We're on cool down, babe, kiss me to your heart's content
Our Best Of reel is never running out of content
This fantasy is not one-sided, I'll fulfil your desires
Cow bikini, butler tailcoat, my preferred of your attires
Cost a kidney, my life savings and a ten-year-old loan
But f*** me is it worth it when I hear your Siri voice moan

[Pre-Chorus 2]

Sure, it's not a quick fling
Can't believe the affection within
Everything so in sync

[Chorus]

I couldn't have made a better build
For a man to grant my wish
We connect, we play, we lead
You are a perfect lover machine

(You are a perfect lover machine)
Lay your body under me

Feasting on Dead Stars

  Reveal hidden contents

[Verse 1 - the voice of the Universe]

As the second Sun completes its cycle
Fifty-two years down the spiral
Necrotic beings will hatch
Deep into the caverns of time
Silent feet that march
Absent eyes might watch
Over people of sanguinary sacrifice
Huddled in a blue dot's safe confines
Orbiting the scorching yellow prize
Gazes turned to where it resides
For they must feed their stellar appetite

[Refrain]

Paradise gone under the Aztec empire
Lost to Tzitzimime feasting on dead stars

[Verse 2 - the voice of Humanity]

The Sun, obscured by Earth's only satellite
Is the sign that old wise men have come to fear
Daughters of darkness stepping up from a bygone herd
Are still divinities taking seats in the pantheon world
And as the comets shower the night sky
Warriors and civilians fall from their graces
Bloodshed couldn't save us from creatures so sly

[Refrain]

Paradise gone under the Aztec empire
Lost to Tzitzimime feasting on dead stars

[Verse 3 - the voice of Itzpapalotl, leader of the Tzitzimime]

But as the century is brought to a close
I'm coming down to reclaim what's mine
My beating hearts grow large
My death force bears new life
Fire must consume all for ashes to rise
Cures disease for the price of two lives
My constellations glow dark
My skirt of shells rattles light

[Verse 4 - the collective voice of the Tzitzimime]

We, the sky carriers, that by higher rules abide
Missed our own children as we were called to Mictlan
Our justice is impartial
Our motives they misunderstand
It's nature's nature to move up in cycles
Facets of goddesses worshipped in blood
Our senses are keen on change
Our work makes sense of this world

[Refrain]

Paradise gone under the Aztec empire
It collapses, fragile under its own weight

Omg queen so glad you are back and well  I was worried when you hadn’t been online in a few days! :dancehall:

Celebrations peeking at every door

The source stems from higher up the street

"Aluminium Sweat" was ahead of its time, I fear... quite literally! But whew, what a moment. "Water Breaks in a Lunar Mare" too is truly one of those generation-defining classics like... a complete collapse, people died etc. Ready for your finale song to be of this calibre, no matter which direction you go!

Ugh that verse is definitely the most fun I've had writing something (whether prose, song, etc.) in a long time. I had that energy chargedand stored like a lithium-ion battery for a while now. And whew thank you, really, for the love for my birth song, it does make me emosh obv because it's as personal a song as it gets! I know I won't disappoint whether I'm about to give you ALL or nothing (I have yet to decide teehee)

Hey, Hitmakers! It's Judgment Day: we're busily reviewing your submissions for Round 5's Judge’s Choice challenges. What's your verdict? 🧑‍⚖️

Remember, if you've only just discovered Golden Hit or didn't wish to participate in prior rounds, fear not: sign-ups are still open—just submit!

With that, it's time to present the top three of last round's Valentine’s challenge with their bonus prizes: the Hit Tokens!

I've reviewed the requests from our trio of top writers for the week, and done my best to grant them for embossment.

:matty:

Celebrating a third place triumph with “Is love enough?”:

Celebrating a first place finish with “Consuelo”:

Here is your Golden Hit Token embossed with your ATRL username and Sabrina Carpenter. :1stplace:

Congratulations! This is your first Hit Token of S3, and third Hit Token of Golden Hit overall—and your first main token, extremely well deserved! :lee:

I hope you all enjoy your Hit Tokens as much as I did making them! Feel free to use them as a forum avatar if you wish, or just let them be a reminder of your time in Golden Hit—ultimately the choice is yours, and if for whatever reason you are dissatisfied with your token or simply wish to change the embossed graphic/text please contact me and I can arrange a remake. Remember, the top three writers of each round will earn their own Hit Token just like the three above, so make sure to submit each week for the best chance to claim one of these bonus prizes. :lee:
