seems like Hollywood thinks the new winning strategy is to create content that will enrage at least half of their audience, instead of going for universal acclaim.

it's not a terrible 2023 strategy. Universal acclaim is often seen as boring or payola. you'll get way more online discussion and virality from being messy and controversial, even if you don't really add anything to the conversation (the validity of Michael's legacy in this case)

not you starting out with taking an issue then being all for it because you're here for the mess :rip:

chris brown is in shambles

why even bring him into this conversation. he was never gonna ever be a factor

While I do believe he was innocent I am not interested in watching a watered down version of his story. He had mental issues and did many questionable things as a consequence of his tragic upbringing and celebrity status and that’s precisely what I would be interested to watch.

this is the problem about doing these kind of films. depending on the career trajectory theirs usually a divisive view on these people no matter what

considering this will be a biopic and the stigma attached to him it wouldn't be allowed and you know it. for god sake's he couldn't even do a tribute to him at an awards show you think that they'd let something like this happen

What a huge mistake. You just know the estate is going to sugar coat everything and make it corny as hell. Plus it’s obvious he was guilty.

No matter the narrative they are going to go with (probs that he was not guilty) people are going to be mad as **** :skull:

- One group is going to be mad if they gloss over/excuse the allegations like it's nothing

- Other group is going to mad if they even hit that he could be mentally ill and/or a child molester

Can't wait for the drama lol

"One group is going to be mad if they gloss over/excuse the allegations like it's nothing"

You mean racist white people?

"Other group is going to mad if they even hit that he could be mentally ill and/or a child molester  "

As we should because the rest of us realize what time the racist ass government and media was on

Sorry, but even if you think that he didn't molest any children, denying that he was mentally ill is delusional :bibliahh:

But that can't argue that the government and media wasn't racist, because they still are, and a lot of racism was directed at MJ because he was a successful black man and the most successful entertainer to live in modern times. But it doesn't mean that he didn't do it. That's just pure denial.

Regardless what people think of MJ this will be an awards contender film and most likely will do very well at the box office.

Also funny how MJ didn't have any black looking kids, only married white women, 95% of his special child friends were white or mixed looking, his skin turned white "because of vitiligo" despite no other black person you can name has had that problem, magically got straight hair and a small nose too.

Just face that this man this not even like being black and instead of dealing it with a healthy way, he decided the best way was to try to turn himself white and distance himself from blackness. Which worked because I'd say most of his white fans don't even see him as an actual black man, which is utterly shameful. But he knew what he was doing.

I'm not going to dispute the other parts, but this is factually wrong. Millions of people have vitiligo. Winnie Harlow is a prime example.

I mean that no other black person with vitiligo has turned completely white, at least not a public figure. I should've written that more clearly, sorry !
