Madonna's concert in Copacabana is confirmed and should be the biggest of her career

Yes, it's true: Madonna will come to Brazil for a mega concert on May 4 at Copacabana Beach, with the potential to become the biggest of the four-decade career that the Queen of Pop is celebrating.

The singer arrives in Rio de Janeiro in two months at the invitation of Itaú Unibanco, for whom she recently starred in a campaign for the bank's 100th anniversary. Negotiations are closed, although there are still details under discussion (accommodation is one of them: Madonna should stay at the Copacabana Palace).

Quote

(Madonna's) record, so far, is from a concert in Paris, in 1987, with 130,000 spectators, a number that in Copacabana can easily be beaten. The last New Year's Eve had more than 3 million people on the sands, repeating the public successes of the New Year's Eve with Jorge Ben Jor, in 1993, and Rod Stewart, in 1995.

Rod Stewart’s was 3.5 million?

Besides wondering how even with today’s technology they’d be able to track that properly, with streaming nowadays how would she possibly replicate that?

Amazing! :clap3:

I'm brazilian and I'm not really excited about this. Rio is definitely not the choice I would go for an outdoors concert... I can already imagine the massive robbery and violence that's going to happen there :chick3:
