I don't follow local charts but I feel like Give It 2 Me was legit a hit here in Mexico, right?

Yes it was as big as 4 Minutes, played nonstop to hype her return after 15 years

Madonna had a lot to say to her father at her hometown Michigan concert

https://www.mlive.com/life/2024/01/madonna-had-a-lot-to-say-to-her-father-at-her-hometown-michigan-concert.html

This article is interesting and emotional.

By reading it I became very emotional too.

If I were in her Detroit hometown show last night and watched her talk about her father and dance teacher Christopher Flynn, I'm sure I would have sobbed like a crazy broken down person.

She did her best not to cry.

Also, this is the time when madonna talked about her father the longest and most.

Basically she was dedicating her unprecedented career to him.

It was one of a kind show last night.

I hope her dad and Bobs mom are doing well. :/

If her dad showed up in the Detroit show I would have CRIED because he was actually in the Virgin Tour.

she was apprehended and marched offstage by an extra posing as her father. In Detroit, her father Tony Ciccone himself did the honors. The show ended with Madonna returning onstage once more to take her fur coat and doing a curtsey.[12]

She even did the rare us show for the Girlie show tour in Detroit.

One occasion she skipped was Madame X.

She filmed the virgin tour and drowned world tour in Detroit.

She always made sure for her dad and hometown people to see her show.

That was sweet of her.

The show in Detroit was absolutely stunning! She was very emotional because of her dad but she rocked the house down. The best performances were Ray of Light (I had low hopes but my god that was quite the experience seeing this in person), Live To Tell, Erotica, and Nothing Really Matters.

Yup like I said  ray of light was already perfect.

She can still put on a phenomenal show. The queen slays.

Agreed, was listening to it last night and wondering why she pays it dust...it's one of the best songs in her entire catalog, and the message is amazing. Could have been an interesting ending to the final section before BIM or even the closer to the show if mashed up with another song. It deserves recognition on this tour (as does the whole Confessions era, rather than the absolutely abysmal Hung Up performance that's there right now).

Respectfully, I disagree.

Unless she arranged it like Confessions Tour (song wise) because that arrangement....

Honestly?

The show would be amazing if she removed Mother And Father, and add another section after the Like a Virgin interlude with Material Girl, Sorry, 4 Minutes, Give It 2 Me and then leave the stage for one last encore with ***** I'm Madonna and actually sing a bit more of Music and Celebration.

There were rumors she removed one section that included 4 Minutes, Sorry, Candy Shop and another song (can't remember what now).

Seems like she's getting more and more comfortable on stage...i'd say 20 more minutes on stage during a stadium tour this summer with bigger gaps between dates would be something she could do for sure. Choreo could be something like Die Another Day or something she wouldn't get tired as well.

Oh yes, I forgot to mention how Mother and Father had no business being on the setlist. Nobody around me knew the song and the performance was quite boring.

PS - Die Another Day is still overhyped by y'all. Interesting performance but definitely not one of the best from this show. :rip:

Thank you!!! I don’t see the DAD hype. Lowkey my least favorite performance on the tour. I actually liked Mother and Father. Would have preferred Promise to Try or Inside of Me, but I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
