And she used that remix as an intro in the smartest way possible. The crowd is HYPED when the start listening to the ABBA sample and then the song just blows up into the original song. It was the best outcome possible.

We're actually getting Bad Girl, Rain, Bedtime Story, Ray of Light without that damn guitar, etc :jonny6:

omg so I can finally share my thoughts about the show, I've been to both Lisbon dates (+made a whole trip out of it, so just came back yesterday).

The show is spectacular! Honestly one of the best I've ever attended, the setlist flows great and her energy is insane!

For the first night I've managed to get a 2/3rd row at the spot where she sings IWS and it was such a great place. During the ball part i was just staring at her (and Jon Kortajera) faces the whole time, i was shook when they brought Jon out cuz he was my teenage crush at some time :rip: and during the Saudade/IWS i was literally staring directly at her for 15 minutes, it was unbelievable, I got really lucky. She also slapped her ass right in front of me during HU :gaydonnacat1:

Anyways, Madonna looked GORGEOUS throughout the whole show, extra happiness for being in Lisbon really showed. My favourite moments were NRL, Everybody/Burning Up/Open Your Heart, Holiday/Live To Tell, Erotica, Bad Girl, Hung Up, Vogue, DTM and BIM (it was so fun seeing all her iconic outfits).

Before the 2nd show, I went on a date, so I was really relating and eating some of the lyrics up :gaycat6: Loved that she started earlier this time, and seeing the show from a different perspective (balcony 1) made me appreciate it even more. I could see the show perfectly and seeing the little details like the runways lighting up differently was so cool! Highkey wanna see this show again, hopefully the rumours about the 2nd leg will be true.🤞

She's really cool and i hope to be like her when I reach her age, still adventurous, passionate, energetic and just overall amazing :heart2:  I think people forget that she's an artist first and it shows when you compare her to her peers or even nowadays artists. I don't see many of our other/ATRL faves still making such shows and enjoying themselves in their 60s. Once they make it, they get comfortable but she never stayed comfortable and that's inspiring.

I love your entire post thank you for sharing (I was also right beside her during I Will Survive and Hung Up during the Antwerp show night 1 and it was immaculate!) I think the last paragraph and particularly the last line you wrote is such a good way to sum up Madonna:

As you said, so many musicians and in this case our pop girls aren't pushing themselves as much as they could musically / artistically despite being famous for being an artist. Between them it's usually one of these: only performing in Vegas for the ultra rich, focusing their time on make up or endorsements, riding on the success of one famous album and repressing it on vinyl 30 times, delaying promised albums for years, not doing much visual material / music videos for an album release, etc.

These people don't owe us anything but it is often a shame when they could do more with their talent and platform(s). Madonna on the other hand continues to give us jam packed eras, new concepts each era, tours that are all different from each other and isn't afraid to be controversial and push people's buttons (buttons that need to be pushed by someone, and Madonna is the girl who'll deliver). She definitely has clear flaws ("COVID is the great equaliser" and the fact that her concert tickets have always been really expensive, but at least she isn't stuck in Vegas!) That said however, she js such an interesting pop culture figure that has invited really progressive discussions in society (particularly on women and LGBTQ+ rights). The fact she has a plethora of impact behind her and she is still pushing boundaries (which is bound to have impact in the future) is really profound and as you said, inspiring.
