Plz Madonna is one of the greats, she's from my hometown, went to my school for dance. We love her. But her whole generation of pop stars has legends that set the bar for pop continually and still do.

Madonna is not just one of the greats. Before her no one did the show like her with blond ambition tour.

That's a fact.

I said the modern 'pop concerts'. Which acknowledged by rolling stones among many others.

maybe you dont need to undermine what shes achieved.

Don't get oversensitive.

Sis the irony in this comment is BEYOND :deadbanana4:

sis i dont wanna argue.

before her no one did it like she did.

i didnt state anything false.

and i never asked about other greats artists.

i only stated what madonna set the bar for pop concerts.

the queen of pop is only one. not many others.

if you have a problem with my sentence, i dont have anything else to say more.

ill move on.

Attended the show yesterday and had the most amazing time!

Definitely a top tier Madonna tour, like only she can deliver. She looked so happy, and owned that stage. Similar to previous tours, I’m sure we will see lots of other acts borrow from the concepts/production of the tour in the future. The production value is insane!

The opening is incredible, one of her best, and I loved the closing number with BIM. It really works with all the Madonnas on stage.

The crowed loved it, and the Spanish press has been amazing and all glowing about “La Reina”.

Can’t wait for my second date in a month’s time in Amsterdam.

Live to Tell is amazing this tour but I would have preferred she sing on the stage instead of that platform thing.

Her butt implants are still definitely on there, y’all lied :rip:

HOWEVER—her chest looks like it’s back to normal, she definitely got something removed there, it’s odd that no one here seems to have noticed

Spain is definitely an amazing crowd. I went to Queen and Adam Lambert’s first Spain concert last tour and I thought I was imagining how happy Brian May was about the audience until he posted on his Instagram about how Madrid had been the best concert so far and how energized he felt… At some point he looked about to cry in happiness.

When the Spanish crowd loves you, they LOVE YOU. So sad I couldn’t see legend Madonna in Barcelona!

Maybe next time. Especially if she extends it to stadiums next year. Lol

She has had big and all natural ones for all her life. No jobs done there

if she's going to do stadiums for SA next year i hope she changes the stage for a bigger one because this one is clearly designed for arenas and gets lost in the crowd.

They're not. There's only padding in the Bedtime Story body suit. Pics of her post hospitalization and opening night prove this

yeah it seems like her butt is only bigger with that last outfit...it has to be padding.

If there's a second leg for this tour I hope she reworks the second half. She can drop Bedtime Stories, it seems really low-energy live. Replace it with

Physical Attraction.

I was apprehensive about Bob at first, but his role works so well throughout the show. Watch the other girlies scramble for drag queens on their next tours :hippo:

So I wanted to list out everything I noticed without having yet seen the show in person:

Pre-Fame / Personal Life

  • Heartfelt speech about her brother Anthony's death (Belgium)
  • Notes her punk/CBGB's days before Burning Up
  • Christopher Flynn, her former dance teacher, is one of the first faces shown during the AIDS tribute in Live to Tell
  • Pictures of her mother
  • Pictures of David's biological mother

Madonna

  • Everybody
    • With original Danceteria choreography
  • Holiday
  • Burning Up
  • First Madonna doppelgänger before Burning Up

Like a Virgin / The Virgin Tour / Desperately Seeking Susan

  • Arguably, the first act outfit seems to wink at the one she wore during the first act of TVT
  • Like a Virgin/Billie Jean/Angel interlude (with Boytoy doppelgänger)
  • Into the Groove
  • Material Girl doppelgänger (BIM)
  • Crazy for You
  • The platter on the main stage is clearly a nod to the wedding cake during the Like a Virgin VMAs performance

True Blue / Who's That Girl

  • Open Your Heart
    • With Tamara de Lempicka paintings and cabaret chair used in the Open Your Heart video
  • Live to Tell
  • Papa Don't Preach strings moment
  • Sang a few lines of Causing a Commotion at one date (Belgium)
  • Where's the Party? sample at the start of Everybody
  • La Isla Bonita
  • La Isla Bonita video doppelgänger (BIM)

Like a Prayer / Blond Ambition / Dick Tracy / The Immaculate Collection

  • Like a Prayer (Remixed Prayers Mix) / Act of Contrition
  • Mixing Vincent Paterson's Papa Don't Preach and Like a Virgin choreography and scenery from the BAT and recreating the masturbation scene (with Blond Ambition doppelgänger)
  • Updating the BAT Express Yourself/Like a Virgin outfits for Vogue
  • Vogue
    • Some of the choreography winks at the original BAT version
  • Justify My Love / The Beast Within
  • Bob the Drag Queen as the Vogue VMAs doppelgänger
  • Several Truth or Dare (/ moments with Luis and Jose) clips during Vogue and the Madonna interlude
  • I can't help but think the chair routine in Open Your Heart is a slight nod to both Keep It Together (BAT) and Bye Bye Baby (TGS)
  • Gabriel is shown during Live to Tell

Erotica / The Girlie Show

  • Erotica / You Thrill Me
    • Boxers from TGS
    • The clock sound is likely taken from bridge in Waiting
  • Bad Girl
  • Rain
  • Fever during the 90s interlude
  • In This Life sample during the AIDS memorial sequence
  • Dita doppelgänger (first Bob ? in the 90s interlude and then again another dancer during BIM)
  • The Mädchen/Edie-esque doppelgänger (BIM)
  • Vogue GS doppelgänger (BIM)
  • Express Yourself GS doppelgänger
  • A League of Their Own doppelgänger (BIM)
  • Topless Gautier show doppelgänger (BIM)
  • Up Down Suite intro for Vogue
  • Several clips from the Erotica video and the making of the Sex book during the Madonna interlude
  • I'd argue the giant disco ball at the end of Holiday is a nod to the Girlie Show
  • The dancers during Hung Up are styled similarly to the final act on the Girlie Show, albeit with a chain that may wink back to BAT Express Yourself

Bedtime Stories / Evita

  • Human Nature
  • Human Nature doppelgänger (Crazy for You / BIM)
  • Bedtime Story
  • The Bedtime Story video is notably used several times through the show
  • Don't Cry for Me Argentina

Ray of Light

  • Nothing Really Matters
  • Ray of Light
  • Performed a few lines of Little Star on opening night for Lola's birthday
  • Frozen video doppelgänger (BIM)
  • Nothing Really Matters video doppelgänger (BIM)
  • Frozen used as the Rain backdrop

Music

  • Don't Tell Me
  • Music sample during Celebration
  • Music video doppelgänger (BIM)

American Life

  • Die Another Day
  • Mother and Father
  • American Life doppelgänger (Don't Cry for Me Argentina)
  • Using the Into the Hollywood Groove lyrics during Into the Groove

Confessions on a Dance Floor

  • Hung Up
    • With original Confessions Tour choreography
  • Hung Up video doppelgänger (BIM)
  • Confessions Tour Act I doppelgänger (BIM)

Hard Candy / Celebration

  • 4 Minutes doppelgänger (BIM)
  • Arguably the boxing elements during Erotica
    • At the very least her white-laced boots are a nod to the Hard Candy album cover in my eyes
  • Celebration

MDNA

  • Girl Gone Wild sample during Like a Prayer
  • Give Me All Your Luvin' sample during ***** I'm Madonna
  • Vogue Superbowl doppelgänger (BIM)
  • Met Gala 2013 doppelgänger (BIM)
  • Arguably, the ribbed distortion on the screens during Don't Cry for Me Argentina could be a nod to the MDNA album cover distortion
  • "NO FEAR" written on the American Life doppelgänger's back

Rebel Heart

  • Living for Love interlude (are there also elements of Wash All Over Me here?)
  • ***** I'm Madonna

Madame X / Post-MX

  • I Don't Search I Find interlude
  • Several clips from God Control in the Madonna interlude
  • Hung Up on Tokischa

Additionally, the Madonna interlude features several small samples and clips from her entire career, and every era is to represented in some way. As there are too many to list, I only included above the elements I found the most pertinent. Here's what appears to be "missing" from the show: representation for several of her films (I would have expected WE, I'm Going to Tell You a Secret, and Raising Malawi); a single performance or sample of anything from Hard Candy (which, with Britney's book and Justin's deservedly awful press, is now even less likely to happen); a mention of or nod to Christopher Ciccone, likely due to his tell-all book; a clear nod to Niki Harris and Donna De Lory (if they don't make an appearance at at least one show, I will be livid); and tbh, I think she should have had a matador at some point to represent either Take a Bow's incredible success or Living for Love.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, it looks like 1986 - 1992 are the eras best represented by the show. I'm just in awe at how much she managed to stuff into the show's runtime.
