Hector Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 THAT'S POWER Also debuts at #6 on the Billboard Argentina Hot 100 (Bizarrap's home country) with one day of tracking as well. The amount of debuts around all of Latin America will be quite fascinating to see.

Kakihara Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 To clarify, she didn't steal or rob anything, she was just taking back a bit of what they stole from us.

At most she'd be upper-middle class, and that'd be a stretch considering her father's bankruptcy when she was young and how any random can have a dual citizenship because their grandparent was a poor immigrant. But you tried.

But you tried. Upper-middle class is nothing but an euphemism used by rich people who feel guilty about being rich. Those kind of people who say they had a "comfortable" childhood. Also her dad taking her to watch orphans and homeless people in the streets as child to "instill gratitude into her" would point into an affluent direction. Like... this is no drag towards her, how she exactly grew up, but she just didn't come up in a working class environment. But that's the case with almost every person that's active as a performer in the music industry, their families had the capital and willingness to afford their kids following their actual passions. Her family could afford supporting her financially, even though her first three albums flopped until she hit it big. I know we love to stan here and I like Shakira too, but let's be realistic.

Her father was the owner of a small business in Colombia (mind you in a 3rd world country), which went bankrupt due to an economic crisis in the country. Shakira was 8 yo then. Her father had 8 kids to feed. Her mother was a housewife. They weren't even close to being upper class, even middle class is debatable for the years after the bankruptcy. They had to sell their property and move to a friend's house, where they shared one bedroom for a period of time. Shakira has talked about this in so many interviews. They didn't recover financially until Shakira became the breadwinner of her entire family with the success of PD. In fact, it was the driving factor in her early years to support her family. Can you stop making things up? It's not even funny.
