How will society function if people aren't working

I hope you realise the world would be absolutely fine if most jobs didn’t exist :skull: There are very few actual essential jobs

Slavery is lack of consent. No one forces someone to work 9-5. Go to school, get a job that allows for flexibility. My job lets me go down to a 0.80 for 80% of my pay if I want, I'm relatively junior in my career and just have no desire for it, but I certainly could and still make a good living.

Congrats, you take a pay cut? Wouldn’t it be nicer if you had the 3 day weekend and didn’t take the pay cut?

I'm realistic and realize how this would cripple the global economy. Even if the other four days a week are more productive, you're still looking at significant production and productivity losses in every single industry. It's not as simple as you think lol.

YES please. I know some countries are doing programs where people are off on Friday, Saturday and Sunday... idk if it'll take off here in America but the weekend definitely needs to be extended.

Those of you saying no, thinking it makes logical sense to give 5 days of each week to work and only 2 days to catch up on household chores and other duties, let alone time to relax and enjoy life are not well.

Might as well then make people work 7 days a week and 80 hours a week to maximize productivity!

that would be amazing but the world would never do it - it would have to be adopted by at a workplace level

I don’t work. My husband pays it all.

People in offices only do 3-4 hours of real work per day. The rest is just trying to get through the day by chatting, browising the net, taking breaks / doing nothing etc.

So you can totally reduce the working week to 20 hours and you will get zero loss of productivity. Hell you might even get a spike in productivity because the workers will be much more rested and well rounded thanks to the extra free time.

I don't know if the same applies to blue collar jobs but for white collar jobs you can literally half the amount of working hours and expiernce zero loss of productivity.

Yes. I could also work 10 hours a day in order to fulfil the 40 hr work week and have 3 days off

the way this is so true :coffee2:

those saying no are probably just ignoring their work and checking ATRL most of the day and want to talk about productivity :rip:

Ofc!  like why would you turn down more rest  :deadbanana2:

I can't handle the sheer amount of people everywhere on a friday/saturday night so another night will be literally hell, no, I need more space :-*

Exactly like why rest at all

I'd rather see workdays chopped to 30 hours. I might go part-time later this year, maybe drop Friday.

It’s hard to believe some sheep are saying ‘no’ to this :deadbanana:

This. Most jobs nowadays are just to feed the rich. The definition of Capitalism.
