Not Taylor Swfit fans being pressed, despite all of her success

It's not like she's at #2 having pulled the Papa John's pizza trick :chick1:

There are 4 different covers of Midnights. And the target exclusive with the 1 extra song. Not dozens. But yes that the 4 covers together formed a clock certainly convinced some to buy all 4

But Red TV only had the 1 standard version and still did pretty well.  :celestial5:

And if it would be so easy other artists would do the same. Oh wait, they are doing the same, as I said, they just dont sell either way.

And yes you have to be a really dedicated fan to still buy an album. Which Taylor and K-Pop acts have a lot of. There was an article recently that 50% of the people buying vinyls dont have a record player. They are collectibles. Or wall Art. Like the clock.

I just dont think there are that many Taylor fans buying multiple albums as everyone seems to think. Or that the 1.578M wasnt insanely impressive and crazy

I'm not arguing that everyone would sell Taylor numbers with the same antics. I'm saying she does have a large fanbase so to act like her antics are not inflating her sales is absurd.

Her fanbase is large and dedicated. Do you also think Anti-Hero selling 350k copies in one random week was the GP's doing? No. It shows that her fanbase is big, dedicated, and will buy virtually anything if Taylor incentivizes it enough.

But also, you keep saying other artists are doing the same. Who else provides specific incentives for fans to buy multiple versions of albums (e.g. clock versions on albums/vinyls)? Because I have not seen anyone do that sans Kpop acts.

Happier Than Ever has 1 cover on all formats. There are different Vinyl versions but its just the disk. The cover is the same and provides no incentive to own more than 1. Same with WWFAWDWG.

SOUR has 2 covers (applies to album and Vinyls). Vinyls have more variants just by disk but not covers (as standard).

30 has 1 cover on all formats and a few vinyl variants in exclusive locations (walmart, target, etc.).

Drake doesn't even release physicals at this point.

SZA hasn't even released physicals at this point for SOS.

Bad Bunny's Un Verano San Ti only has 1 album cover and not even released on Vinyl (As far as I know)

Harry's House has 1 cover on all formats. Multiple vinyl disk variants.

Dangerous by Morgan Wallen only has 1 cover on all formats. Multiple vinyl variants by disk.

Future Nostalgia has 1 cover on all formats. Multiple vinyl variants by disk.

I'm a little confused as your continued insinuation that Taylor is just one of many who pulls stunts like this. Which other top artists are incentivizing fans buy multiple copies? If there are so many, can you provide actual examples?

I mean. If you think different covers are that massive incentive and different vinyls arent an incentive at all. Okay

Idk. I'm not buying either. Maybe you are right. But why is everyone releasing different vinyls then

What would making multiple vinyl colors be if not an incentive, are you serious :deadbanana4: :deadbanana4:

Maybe then her total will finally cross Taylor's 1.578 million first week :bird:

Yea its a shame she didn’t have enough physical versions on sale to make up a vinyl wall clock.

Looking at ctrl total album sales, not enough demand. Such a shame.

You will never convince anyone here that Taylor’s sales are organic! Y’all need to give it up and take your tainted wins as they are.

Oh. I don't need to convince a certified OTH that her sales are organic or not :lakitu:

Her album sold 1.578 million in 1st week with record breaking streaming numbers, vinyl sales, whether anyone likes it or not.

Taylor been pulling in massive numbers her entire career. Ever since Fearless that’s one department she has yet to fail in

trynna argue her album sales is the most ignorant thing you can do. You can’t fabricate that album after album for 10 consecutive albums

Thats my biggest thing with these people trying to pretend Taylors sales are inorganic. This is the girl who has a Diamond album from when she was 18 years old, only a couple of years into her career, and then went on to have four more albums (from Speak Now to reputation) SELL 1 million pure copies in one week in the US, even before the vinyl resurgence and when she’d often only release a standard and its deluxe album, but no other cover variants etc.

Taylor has ALWAYS been the strongest pure seller of her generation (with the exception of Adele in the 2010s) but for the 2020s everyone wants us to be mad at her for her team coming up with incentivized tactics to boost the sales we know she’s more than capable of pulling anyways? :rip:

It’s cause she never truly loses. Just when you think her starpower has reached its peak, she comes back again even stronger

Red TV and Midnights should’ve put a permanent end to anything album related when it comes to her

This is such an embarrassing take, y'all have lost it. This girl has been selling like crazy since fearless and has had multiple 1 million sellers even 17 years into her career.

The general public or the bitter gays, jeez I wonder which one isn't biased

Taylor would still sell a lot even without the dozens of variants. Maybe not 1.3 million or whatever her average on debut week is but still near the million mark. You can't tell she's not taking advantage of the sheep-like mentality of her stans though. Both can be true.

The 2023 Billboard year end #1 album race is getting interesting between the 2 girls. They seem pretty locked for the top 2 already and SZA can absolutely get it.

With the first 2 weeks of Midnights having counted for 2022

Week 10/52

Midnights 1.572.000

SOS 878.000

This will never not bother me, idk wtf her team was thinking with releasing the 2nd to last week of the year. Could’ve been such an easy locked in #1 but instead 2m units were just wasted on a “top 5” 2022 YE position nobody cares about :gaycat7:

Poor SZA. Let's hope she can have a chance after Miley's #1 debut

She should have released that EP and the video a week before
