The Sped Up Version Trend Had To Die ASAP, Agree?

Yes, please. At least the (slowed+ reverb) trend was listenable. Go back to that if you must.

Yes it really does, especially when people hear the original and they think THAT sounds weird.

I dunno, I don't hate it on principle, but I would never choose a sped-up version over the original.

Then again, back in the 2000s we had nightcore remixes.... is there really any substantial difference?

Other than iTs FuN can anyone give a reasonable explanation for these to even exist? I get the average TikToker has the IQ of a sea cucumber but is there more to it?

I always said that the sped up trend was an inevitability given the fact that gen z is the generation with the shortest attention spans

it's better than slowed down versions

It's great for platforms like TikTok or Instagram, where they either serve as background music or for quick 15-30 second edits... but I just can't imagine myself going to Spotify and saying yeah, I think I'll listen to World's Smallest Violin (Sped Up Edit) :eli:

It should've never lived :giraffe:

Same goes for slowed and reverb.

so annoying and how can you even enjoy the song like that?

It is a hate crime. First it was the shorter songs trend and now this? Jail.

I only listen to Ariana Grande if it is sped up

I'm not cause I don't listen to them. It's quite sad how this generation feels the urge to rush even when listening to a song, sth that supposedly serves as entertainment and relaxation. What's next? sped up movies?

i know people who binge watch shows on two times speed :rip:

Idk, zoomers worry me with how ****** their attention span is. Maybe it'll mean they'll be future powerhouses in tech later or something - but like, during Christmas my niece was literally playing a game on her phone, while she was watching a tiktok on her ipad that was split screen of an episode of family guy, and a video about making slime on the other half.

I asked her to explain the concept and she was like "if i get bored of one thing I can go to the other..."

Maybe this is just a new level of efficiency...idk - freaked me out.

Is she in school yet? I've always wondered how this generation handles school. Does the teacher have a laptop running subway surfers gameplay while they talk or something? :deadbanana2:

Not subway surfers :deadvision:
Some people focus that way, but the familiar of the user you quotes is a lot.

and yeah, I’ve been noticing a shift in people’s attention span length

Nightcore has been a thing for over 20 years. Do you guys not remember those AMVs on YouTube :deadbanana4:

Yeah, i like and respect when the artist get the Tiktok sped up hit WITHOUT releasing a sped up version on streaming platforms!

so the sped up tiktok fan made edit turns to be just promo for the "original" song where the artist voice is LISTANABLE and not a chipmunk

The Bloody Mary sped up version is horrible but hey it's still getting it's streams so still a win for us
