Enough music biopics. They're usually horrid.

Yeah while I think Gaga could do Amy's songs justice she's too old to play Amy. I'm also not convinced she could pull off Amy's accent tbh. No shade to Gaga but it would have been a bad choice.

these movies need to STOP. Amy would hate this.

Jennifer Hudson(41) just portrayed Aretha from teenage days, Jessica Chastain(45) won Oscars for portraying Tammy from teenage days as well. Its happen all the time in biopics

Umm the difference is that Amy didn’t live to be Gaga’s current age while Aretha and Tammy lived into their 60-70s.

Aretha biopic story was mostly based on earlier days from pregnancy at young age, controlling father, gaining fame, etc. They don't even explore her career beyond 1970s in that movie

Sis are you seriously saying that Gaga could have believably portrayed Amy Winehouse at age 17 or 18? :skull: It would have been a horrendous case of miscasting

I am just pointing out biopics are rarely aged casted.

It's common to see actors playing older, as that is more easily achieved on film, but not 20 years younger as late 30's acting as a teenager. And in the cases where it has been done, I think many would agree that it doesn't work successfully. There may be occasional exceptions where certain performances have won praise but by and large it's not a good idea.

hopefully this is good. glad they went with an actual actress!

reminds me of pll's super pricy and authentic gaga costumes

Kali Uchis or Mutya Buena would kill this role if they have some sort of acting talent. That girl above is serving Halloween cosplay.
