THANK YOU! A proper album is what she needs to truly capitalize on this attention and goodwill from the public. Something to remind the public of her brilliance. It doesn't need to be a DELL 2.0 or whatever, it just needs to be good and come out at the right time. Anything pre-Te Felicito can go in the bin.

I think she herself is aware of how much damage the 2016-2021 era of watered-down reggaeton and the playlist album, as successful as it may have been, has done to her artistic reputation. I pray she gets a good executive producer for this album. She's clearly inspired again and isn't afraid to talk her ****. It's all a matter of quality control and focus.

First i was adamant on what the strategy should be, because females seem to have an easier time dropping singles and then compiling them into an album, as the GP doesnt check for their albums like they do for male acts. But she has such a grab on the GP right now that i feel like a solid album could make even more waves than singles would. She just needs to have a variety of sounds and feelings to convey about the situation, and thats a winning formula already.

BTW, i think El Dorado didnt do any damage. If anything it proved she was still a commercially viable act that could still reach the youth despite the selftitled underperforming

Te Felicito has to be included, her best bop in ages :jonnycat:

And lyrically it would fit

Te Felicito and Monotonia are 100% making it. Hopefully this one too. Anything else she should add to a deluxe but keep them off the standard, i want the album to have a theme and the rest simply does not fit.

Maybe "damage" is too strong of a word, but I do think it put her career in a weird cruise control phase. Like, yeah, she was getting massive hits, but they weren't gagging the public like this, nor were they driving interest towards an album (as a full body of work).

It's like everyone involved (Shakira, the general public, even the fans to an extent) became complacent and simply accepted the barest minimum from her. Watered-down reggaeton, bland MVs, no interesting lyrics, zero appearances... I'm happy those songs were successful (and I still stream them till this day), but we all know that that's not what made her a legend in the first place.

(The exception would be the SB, which was AMAZING, but then Covid hit, everything got scrapped, and we entered the absolute worst phase of her career: GLM and DWU :rip:)

She herself, on that Elle interview, seemed a bit regretful that she put her career in last place in order for Piqué to thrive, only for him to cheat on her.

Ever since Te Felicito, it seems the public is actively invested in her music (which is why, as you pointed out, she needs to release an album, not just a playlist), rather than just accepting her bops.

I love the song! The production is incredible.

She's charting in Germany. She didn't have a hit here since Chantaje. I hope this is getting big. So happy for her!

apparently it's most likely to debut top 15 but if the streams are really really stable then maybe top 10
