rafacog Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I needed an iconic pop culture moment so bad, yesterday EVERYBODY was talking abou the song, even my mom called to discuss the lyrics
dumbsparce Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Wait what is this? I'm so confused. Is the song really called Session 53? And why is it blowing up? Cause it's a Pique diss track or is it just hype for new Shakira music?
kandicha Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 excited to see the first day spotify numbers but knowing spotify and big releases it'll be hours late updating

And both because is a diss track and because she’s been gaining momentum since te felicito. so in reality this is her 3rd jab at the whole breakup she’s cashing in…guessing the bad bunny and Karol g collabo will be more commercial hype before album release. #1 debut secured. Hopefully this is her year.
Riot Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Not to start meaningless stan wars, but not even Madonna got a smash hit in her fourth decade in the business

So every spanish speaker knew this was going to be a blood bath and the hype was huge

They think they're being shady and they just show how ignorant and uninformed they are. They're trapped in their anglo/k-pop bubble that they hate seeing something like this smashing wishing their basic fave was the one doing it. someone had to say it it's what they always say when latinos are smashing the streaming charts. Same happened with Bad Bunny, Anitta and many others OT; this is such a SMASH super impressive for Shakira and I hope this can be a US top 10 hit for her!
vuelve88 Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Is there some reason Shakira keeps on releasing music on Wednesdays and not Fridays? She could have a much bigger debut on Billboard charts, unless she just doesn't care about Billboard.

I mean without being shady towards Shakira Monotonia debuted with 3 million on spotify The last biza track did 5.5 million. They are really ignorant Also seeing those numbers this is doing at least 10 possibly 12 million

I think she released Monotonia on a Wednesday to coincide with the anniversary of the release of "Sale el Sol" album. Sort of like to send a closure message. This time around, it's because Bzrp always releases on Wednesdays. But maybe she also said f you billboard. Honestly, that chart has lost the prestige it held a decade ago. Rider Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 What is THIS I didn't expect this slay on the first listen Her best song since Las de la Intuicion
Chemist Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I'm in Colombia right now and i have heard it already like 4 times in bars/clubs. The amount of memes from it is insane as well. Imagine being 25+ years into your career and still create cultural moments like this
Nebur Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I'm from Venezuela and this is THE BOOM here everyone talks about it, at work, in transportation, at home EVERYWHERE... QUEEN SHAKIRA and social networks in Venezuela are CHAOS with this issue

I didn't even think about the anniversary of "Sale El Sol". 49 minutes ago, Axel. said: why would she care? it's 2023, not 2013. LOL. This is true.
305 Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 It's so funny seeing the non Latinos in here confused about the title and Biza
brazaquitos Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I'm in Chile and had an internal flight today. I saw two people watching the videos on their phones. One of them was a middle aged guy, probably not a music stan. It seems to be a pop culture event
