Taylor still collecting 100k+ sales weeks in her 11th week. That's AMAZING.

Congrats to SZA too. She is talented and was a good sport in terms of competing with Taylor. Didn't make a drama of it and showed her respect and admiration for Taylor which I am sure is reciprocal. :clap3:

I can see SZA remain #1 for the rest of January, the week she drops vinyls and the week she drops the deluxe if its loaded. AOTY contender just like dat

Her vinyl won't drop before august/september at the absolute earliest :deadbanana4:

Taylucifer tried it last minute and the digital bundles got shipped back. :ahh:

Imagine your album debuting with 1.5 million copies and fighting for it's position a mere nine (9) weeks later

Oh SZA, the woman that you are and you'll always be

Most 1m+ debuts went through that :deadbanana4:

I hope Taylor continues to compete whenever she has a chance. Charts are business, not art, so there’s no such thing as being too competitive there.

"business"

As if she went #1 it was going to make her richer the next day?:gaycat6:

Do you hear yourself? That week at #1 was going to benefit her for nothing. Literally nothing. Midnights is smashing and will probably go back to #1 when she will start her US stadium tour... There was ABSOLUTELY no need for that even on a business level. If anything, it could've hurt her image if she actually blocked SZA since it was basically an attempt to block a black woman from achieving a new record for the black community.

Not really. IT was unnecessary.

The gap was 8k and she sold only 2600 of these digital copies in that last 2 hours she put them online. So the #1 was going to SZA either way and no matter what

Other people are working just as hard and want the recognition as well. Let them have their moment.

When have charts or artists ever operated this way :rip:

Are you actually trying to frame Midnight’s chart run, with 11 100k+ weeks, as bad? :rip:

Do you know what PR is :rip: Weeks at #1 look good for people, particularly labels. Also, artists are allowed to just want to be #1 :priceless:

The fact that y’all are still trying the affirmative action angle with Billboard charts, no one has literally ever operated in that way :rip:

And if you read well, I said that Midnights was bound to comeback at #1 when the US STADIUM tour will start. So it was unnecessary either way no matter how much you're going to defend her for scamming her fans.

Here you go again :rip: Pathologically obsessed with defending a woman who does not know you exist.

You literally just ignored everything I just said :rip: So according to you she’s bound to return to #1? Cool, then she can add additional #1s to her total :rip: None of this crap is “necessary”, it’s Billboard charts, if an artist wants to compete for the top spot when they see a potential opportunity, they’re allowed to do so. Literally no one checks the catalog of Billboard “records” beforehand to see if they should “let” another artist have the #1 spot :priceless:

The fact you are attempting to frame me, a fan of Taylor, responding to posts about her as negative, as opposed to you, a person who hates her, doing so :deadbanana4:

I'll say that there's nothing wrong with Taylor wanting to win and doing all she can to make that happen for herself but I do see your point.

For someone as successful as she is, it always comes off as overkill when she does as much as she does. She's already the most successful female artist this century.

There really isn't anything left to prove to anyone anymore. She can easily just release her music and let her fans support organically how they want to without all these aimless remixes and cringe attempts at boosting herself back up to #1.

This is why she bothers me so much :rip: There is nothing left for her to prove. She has multiple #1s in the US, almost a dozen #1 albums, almost multiple diamond albums, multiple grammy AOTYs, record breaking tours, hundreds of millions of dollars, etc.

So the need to do the antics she does makes no sense and she should be way above that. She already does a lot with the multiple album/vinyl covers/versions for physical sales that these cheap digital versions are just...what's the point?

It's just always perplexing to me that her fans paint her as this revolutionary artist who is so dedicated to her craft, but the second she releases an album that only vibe you get from her is she wants sales/money. Not that she just wants her music to connect with people.

The way ATRLers constantly drag their own faves for not promoting or being more ambitious, and now supposedly they think they should fall back and not do anything but “let their music connect with people” once they reach a certain level of success :deadbanana4:

Is this what you consider promoting? :deadbanana4:

You need to learn the difference between promoting AND being pathetic and petty

Ok! I wasnt aware of the big challenge concerning this 4th week at #1 for SZA ! Wasnt aware that the last female RnB album to stay this long was JANET

Taylor was really immoral to try to deprive her of that wtf :skull:

It wasn't THAT close. :deadbanana4:

Happy for SZA, a totally deserved success. :clap3:
