But it would block a black woman from a very important achievment that hasn't been seen in 30 years. Yall have to realize how marginilized black and female artists really are. Yall celebrate Tayor literally everyday for her massive success but fail to acknowldge her appeal as a white woman. Releasing those digital albums like that in the midst of a underrepresented miniority having so much success was nasty work. You have to know when to scale back. If we all know Taylor wil lnaturally go back to #1, why did she do that?
PopFan1996 Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 The fact that SOS was already going to stay at #1 even if SZA didn't release that digital version. It did around 2600 digital sales ( 125,000- 2600 = 122,400). She stressed for nothing
alejandreaux Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 i love Taylor but the better album simply won

Now, despite her attempts at going back at #1, she wasn't successful and will likely get dragged on social media for her failed antics.
onewillowsilk Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 I hope SZA doesn't take too long releasing the deluxe version of her album. Now I want her album to spend as many weeks moving 100k+ units as possible.

Do you think Bad Bunny dropping physical copies of UVST a week after Renaissance came out was a racially motivated tactic to steal the spotlight from Beyoncé?
chosensparkles Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 love my girl but gosh, good to see her lose for once

I'm assuming SOS vinyl will be the deluxe version (which I'm sure isn't finalized/ready yet). SOS Deluxe could come before tour but I don't see it happening.
Klein Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Just saw that SZA's SEA units only went down 4% damn. SOS is coming for insane longevity at the top.

family.guy123 Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 ADELE and SZA are in their own lanes. Nobody comes close.

We're talking about Taylor's habit of being a sore winner and being eager to stay at the top of every viable metric in music and entertainment. The r&b and rap community has been taking note of her release habits when a black or brown artist has a chance at breaking certain records that haven't been seen in a while. She just wants another week at #1 cause she FEELS like it. Other people are working just as hard and want the recognition as well. Let them have their moment. She has a hard time letting her music breathe and operates on a model of oversaturation and commercialism. It's almost sickening and why alot of people dont take her as seriously as an artist.
