Everyone was cheering them at the start of their relationship. :rip: It's only when she was an insufferable c*nt that people turned against her.

Just google who the mayor of London is and then see how many "racist" articles are towards him:rip:

The brits did have a problem like 10 years ago with immigrants because they were bombarded with articles that east europeans and immigrants are coming to take their jobs but it turned out most of them did warehouse or field work and most brits don't even want to go near that much labour.:rip:

Like i said previously xenophobia or classism is more common than racism there.

I feel like people claiming that the UK is this racist hell are just outsiders who never even lived there.:deadbanana4:

It’s not a racist hell. It’s not the worst country to live as a black person by far - however racism exists here and it’s not a lovely accepting utopia like people make it out to be. On a daily basis I see racism towards black people, Pakistani people, Muslims and the most accepted form of racism of them all: the discrimination against gypsies/travellers. Ask 10 people in the uk their thoughts on traveler's and 9 out of those 10 will have nothing nice to say despite never coming into contact with them in their lives.

This is why the right becomes more and more powerful so many leftists are so puritanical that a white person admitting fault in the way they were raised and acknowledging it is still met with resistance and shame lmfao

Good on Harry for speaking out on his own privilege and acknowledging his ignorance! Yall need to start accepting that intolerance is taught and acknowledging that teaching and unlearning it is part of growth, yall expect everyone to have the morality of your average leftist tiktoker pls stfu

You know people don't want more people like them when someone admits to being part of the problem and they're STILL met with antagonizing. The rightwing is truly the easiest thing to be when people on "the left" are actual morons turning people away and their platforms.

Good on him, we need more men from these shtty institutions like the royal family to speak out and talk ab9ut the changes they needed to make to adapt to a more accepting society.

The left in recent years has always been very pure white or black, youre either historically politically correct or be forever brandished as an evil spawn of satan. This is why the right won in the mid to late 10s in the US, because the Democrats were too busy arguing with one another that the Republicans finally united in their stances and we were slightly outnumbered. Even the Biden win was not landslide and thats very concerning.

Honestly I don’t believe any of you. It’s also even ingrained in our culture to call the local corner shop by a derogative name. I live in a suburb of Cambridge, which is a fairly posh and young area and yet I see racism everyday from people of all ages. God knows what it’s like the further you get up north which is our equivalent of the American south.

The biggest racist ive met in the uk are pretty much all home counties private school boys

You live in Cambridge and hear the N word reguarly after all :dancehall:

Honestly, I feel in the middle. On one hand, I think the concept of having royals is so outdated and tacky. It is the most extreme form of nepotism that should not even exist at this point. Completely here for Megan and Harry to expose how toxic it actually is behind the scenes when the royal family is SO obsessed with presenting themselves as this perfect family.

Princess Diana and now to a smaller extent Harry are the only royals I feel care more about their personal lives and family than their lives as a royal (as anyone should). This isn't the 1500s.

On the other hand, Harry and Megan are starting to come off as annoying because they'd already be successful honestly just keeping their duchess and duke tags and moving on to other things (podcasting, acting, etc.) but they keep revolving their entire lives around the Royal family and it just comes across like they continue to do it for relevance which just doesn't make them look good either.

They should have spilled all the tea at once. Not over the course of years in different formats (Oprah interview, documentaries, memoirs, etc.) it's too much on the same topic.

I hope this is the LAST they milk this drama with the royal family or the tides will turn negative against them. In the US though, I hardly see any hate for them (most are indifferent but steer towards liking them hearing how Megan faced racism in the UK). But Idk, I see it becoming negative in a few months if they keep this up

Exactly. I do think at this point King Charles should just completely suspend their titles, given that Prince Harry and Meghan don't want to willingly give them up (despite their daily trashing of the institution that gives them their titles and privilege).

Let them continue as Mr and Mrs Mountbatten-Windsor.

Apparantly what the Markles did to Harry and Meghan was evil, but somehow what Harry and Meghan are doing to the Windsors is not evil? I think Harry and Meghan are hypocrites. Meanwhile they have 2 young children who will grow up with 1 grandmother (who can't say much because otherwise she will be removed as well) and 2 unstable parents. I feel for them.

Yeah did you see that interview in which Harry said he believes in the institution of the monarchy.

We also have to understand that if a majority in a country wants something, it's their choice. It can be democratic, even if it's something we wouldn't choose.

Ok thanks for the megathread.

I really didn't care too much about them but every update about the book is hilarious and makes you ask if they're just implementing the last tv series in this book

This drama is sooo pretty little liars :dies:

This is insane, I can’t only imagine the Royal Family going crazy with damage control and the British media trying to catch up with so much content.

Next is Megan first acting role after getting married.

I can’t wait to listen to the audiobook.

In a separate incident to the widely-reported "shove" at Nottingham Cottage in Kensington Palace, William is said to have become furious at his brother in April 2021.

Harry, William and Charles were on a walk around Windsor, near Frogmore Cottage, when they talked about the controversial interview the Sussexes gave to Oprah Winfrey weeks before.

Writing in Spare, Harry said he wanted to talk to them about bullying allegations raised against Meghan.

He claimed they did not listen but as he turned to leave, William, "really steaming", shouted: "You never came to us. You never came to me."

Harry said: "I waved a hand, disgusted, but he lunged, grabbed my shirt. "Listen to me, Harold."

"I pulled away, refused to meet his gaze. He forced me to look into his eyes. Listen to me, Harold, listen! I love you, Harold! I want you to be happy."

Harry said he told him that he loved him too "but your stubbornness is extraordinary".

He said he tried to get out of William's grip but his brother grabbed him and made him hold eye contact.

"Harold, you must listen to me! I just want you to be happy, Harold. I swear I swear on Mummy's life," Harry wrote him as saying.

"He stopped. I stopped. Pa stopped. He'd gone there. He’d used the secret code, the universal password. Ever since we were boys those three words were to be used only in times of extreme crisis."

He added in the memoir: "Willy wasn't quite ready to accept defeat.. "I've felt properly sick and ill after everything that's happened and, and I swear to you now on Mummy's life that I just want you to be happy."

Harry added: "My voice broke as I told him softly: I really don't think you do."

This first tweet is so needlessly hateful. Of course a woman is going to revere and hold sacred the relationship she is meant to have with her mother-in-law, especially if it is one who has passed and who's passing still holds a deeply traumatic mark on her partner, let alone if the woman herself is religious. :skull:

This just feels like it's meant to emphasize the cold and individualist culture of British people, especially the royals, compared to the way Americans treat the dead, especially loved ones. It's not odd in America to feel or profess love for someone you've never met if they were special to someone who you DO love.

agree with this if we talk about war in general, but in harry's case, it was a battle gun against targeted members of the taliban, 25 were most probably the bad ones, this number is still much less than the good people killed by the taliban outside the war and they are proud of it

Racists always had it out for Meghan at the start. They need to stop sharing so much though.

It really feels like Harry is not considering the bigger picture of all these revelations :deadbanana4:

I 100% agree with this point

It was even Harry's idea to leave the family and yet it was called "Megxit" and Meghan got all the blame for it "she planned this from the start!"

Not sure if he realizes that the more HE lashes out the more Meghan will take the heat for it
