Do you listen to the iconic pod? "Red Scare is a cultural commentary podcast hosted by bohemian layabouts Anna Khachiyan and Dasha Nekrasova."

They've spawned an iconic subculture and popular subreddit devoted to their critique of modern day popular and mass cultures. I don't agree with everything they say but find their voices very refreshing. They say about 20 things per podcast that would have ATRL's pitchforks out so I suspect they may not be beloved on here, but you never know. :gaycat4:

Dasha is also well known for being "sailor socialism" in this viral video:

I only know of Dasha because of that Sailor video from years ago.

Isn't she and the rest of the Red Scare girls terfs and facists? or are they communists?

They critique popular culture while technically becoming part of popular culture? :psyduck: Also aren't they infamously anti-feminist?

No I listen to rev left radio and millennials are killing capitalism because I actually like to hear intelligent background noise if I’m gonna listen to podcasts

That video of Dasha will always be iconic but they kinda jumped the shark and their online presence is more about edgy contrarianism than a coherent political worldview. At least like Cumtown and Chapo Trap House tried to make themselves seem about politics before anything else.

Bad Faith with Briahna Joy Gray outsold. :cm:

To me that's why they're funny - because they're just saying whatever and contradicting themselves all the time and giggling the whole time, they don't care they're just making a funny little podcast. Even this thread is a good example - no one really knows what they stand for, and it's because they don't stand for anything they just talk a lot of **** and it's funny.

My husband listens to them and they seem lowkey toxic. It's also weird hearing them slowly drift to the right while acting like they're not

ya love them, but i've become more of a center-left adam friedland show watcher lately

They make a lot of sense to me, and they’re funny, so yes I am a fan.
