Yeah it's kinda unbelievable how hard they dropped the ball with this entire era. Like... Flowers really could've been the kickstart for another major career renaissance and while, yes, it's still an undeniable global smash hit and ESV is a decent success overall, especially compared to PH or YN, they could've done so much more with all the hype. Oh well, another notch in a lengthy list of unbelievably frustrating career mismanagements and self-sabotages :bam:

She hates success :)

I think at this point it's safe to assume Miley doesn't want to do promo. She's done sooo much promo the last 15 years of her career. And/or they spent ALL the budget on Flowers which makes the most sense tbh. It's like they gave her 2 options:

1. "We'll put all the money into Flowers to make it a SMASH and you don't have to lift a finger" or...

2. "We'll put all the money into promo (talk shows, tv shows, radio, etc.) but no guarantee of a smash hit or album"

And tbh option 1 is way better for the artist. Maybe not the fans, but at the end of the day oh well. Miley can do what she wants

At least we have Flowers as an 8-week #1 hit :gaycat5:

We just need a tour, that's all I can ask for at this point

Tour won’t happen get over it… usually there always rumors about it it happen with Bey, Taylor & Madonna… I haven’t heard anything from Miley

I can’t Believe that Attention era received more promo due to the live streams of the Latin Festivals compared to ESV :rip:

Honestly, she deserves it. When you refuse to do even the bare minimum to promote your music and let the fandom/a smash hit carry the entire thing, it’s not going to do numbers. The music won’t sell itself. She’s not Taylor Swift or Beyonce.

Sad that she was so passionate even during her floppest era aka Younger Now and now that she’s back in the good grace of everyone, she just let the momentum/hype fizzle out like that. Look at what Dua Lipa did for the FN era, it’s not like that album would cross 10 billion streams or chart that exceptionally well on the charts based off of the quality alone.

Gurl it was Dua's 2nd album , Miley is in the business since FOREVER

I think she has the minimum interest to do anything Dua did on FN

Tbh i would expect her to do a couple of interviews and to perform Flowers , not because of promo but because i thought she enjoyed performing

Yeah you’re right. I was just trying to give an example of an album whose amazing longevity and performance was propelled by singles success POST album release and traditional promo even during the streaming era. And that’s the kind of trajectory ESV could potentially see if they play their cards right considering it’s very similar to FN (both albums have huge global smash as lead single, didn’t peak at #1, similar streaming stats first week etc)

But that might have worked differently for Dua because FN was clearly more crafted for pop hits in mind than ESV and Dua was still an up and coming artist (at least in the US) back then, so in a way she’s more promo sensitive than a household name like Miley.

Still, going radio silence when you’re literally having THE biggest hit of your life after years isn’t the way to go about. It’s extremely weird. That Olivia girl or whoever is running her social media this time needs to be fired asap :gaycat6:

What a sad way to ‘end’ (?) the era. She came into her 30s with the biggest hit of her career, regained public respect, and a solid image. So much pointed to this being a new start for her and we’ve been left with nothing.

I’m guessing she was miserable during the rapid fire Plastic Hearts promo and no longer cares to be a pop star. If anything, an update confirming this from herself or from Tish/Brandi would at least put fans at semi ease.

Looking at her career and not only seeing the potential for more, but the countless mistakes too is infuriating. Whatever.

this isn't a Miley Cyrus era for me

like she's doing even less than what Selena did with Rare

she doesn't need to perform but at least some interviews would be nice???

To think Flowers is her biggest hit literally ever and yet her team has managed to make the era the most boring, eventless, forgettable era of her entire career. Not even ONE radio interview? What the actual **** is going on? So dissapointing.

I only use Jaded and Violet Chemistry. The rest should've been left in the vault

I really like Violet Chemistry, Jaded, Handstand and Flowers. Island and River are growing on me.

The album Being #11 at the UK & Australia :deadbanana2:

UK total sales = 31,609

#2 Flowers / 804,212

#39 River

#56 Jaded

The era feels over, there's literally no reason or excuse for Miley to leave this album in the dust for the past 21 days since release.

Her most stable album in a decade & they're just letting it fall out of the top 10 in all major markets :rip: this truly could have been bigger than it is, even if the album doesn't have many hits on it. I guess Miley really is just tired & done with promoting...

People complain about no promo, but getting so many backyard sessions has been amazing. This has been on REPEAT. I do wish we got a few covers like her old sessions though.

yeah the era is a snooze. NEXT!

The trio of "Handstand", "River", and "Violet Chemistry" remain on repeat for me.

But unlike Rare, this album actually has potential which makes it even worse

So Im guessing Jaded and River will be getting some buzz then they're gonna drop the deluxe or something? That's terrible promotion
