Cqmerqn Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Is it really flopping, though? She’s never been huge with album drops and in my opinion, she’s doing incredibly well. I fear that Flowers set expectations way too high. As much as I love Miley, the song was much bigger than her as an artist and this is why some people are finding the AM numbers underwhelming. That being said, I think the album will have longevity.
wish Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 It's quite simply as easy as Miley picking up a phone and recording 10 second video of her saying "hey guys my new album Endless Summer Vacation is out NOWW ". TikTok pushes "personal" videos like that rather than the over-edited B&W trailers they've been posting all week (most of these posts flopped). This is such a rookie thing to mess up
More Than A Melody Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 People blaming Columbia for the promotion of the album are simply dead wrong. Columbia had a sublime album rollout for Harry (aside from the leaks which were a pain in the ass, but apparently were his management's responsibility). They're doing their part, if the artist doesn't want to promote then there isn't much they can do. And mind you, Harry is known for being interview and promotion shy, and he was still out there doing cute radio interviews and stuff. Maybe Miley doesn't really care if she smashes or not who knows
smoore95GAGA Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 (edited) This flopping while Morgan’s album is doing amazing in the US just confirms that the US prefers racist white men over talented women, but what else is new I mean, even if you don’t love this album, if you somehow think Morgan’s is better or somehow more accessible, there truly is no hope for you. wish Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 personal post - 93.5 million views corporate post - 208K views nobody knows this album is out lmfao
unclefloprry Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 At this point, a certain artist had his residency on a late show. Columbia does its thing on platforms and radio, but her management/PR are the problem.

dwuw Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 The 2nd verse in River really ruins the song, wtf was that

They literally did a perfect job at announcing an era and build up hype for the album. Sadly it's just people aren't here for Miley's music. Flowers simply got lucky with the drama and virality behind it. And that's all.
elvenOCEAN Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 (edited) I absolutely LOVE that the album is so different to Plastic Hearts. Yes, it is not nearly as bombastic as PH was and yes there are some weak songs, but overall it's a solid effort. Miley's vocals and the general vibe of the album, not to speak of the iconic imagery, she went for this era is what saves it. Top 5 after one listen, in nor particular order, are: Flowers / Flowers (Demo) still sounds as fresh as the first time I heard it I don't think I've ever listened to it less than twice at once...it simply leaves you wanting to hear it "just one more time" Jaded Island Thousand Miles Wonder Woman this is giving HUGE Sarah McLachlan's "Angel" vibes! Also, yesterday I listened to "Taste of My Own" (final demo) for the first time and I think it would've fit in perfectly with the rest of the songs on the album. Hopefully there's a deluxe version or sth in the near future. Edited March 10, 2023 by elvenOCEAN
Kayseri Mantisi Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 (edited) I just watched the Disney+ documentary and it made me love the album even more I feel like the live instrumentation of the songs is better than the album versions + loved the stories she told Edited March 10, 2023 by Kayseri Mantisi

Pandora Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 This Disney special is murdering my emotions. She’s truly a legend
biomind101 Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 How many streams did Harry’s House do in its first week?
Edu Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Oh wow I wasn’t expecting the Disney+ special to completely change my opinion on the album, I’m even starting to dig River now.
Lose My Breath Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 Thousand Miles is weird. I think I hate it

SmashingMiley Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 2 hours ago, Scars said: The global reception to Flowers made them overconfident, which led to a confusing minimal album rollout. The music here won't sell itself, her team needs to do the work to get the message all there and they're clearly struggling to do so, at least for now. I still think she'll have a cute debut and people need to wait for tomorrow numbers, but the Disney+ special won't be enough to sell the album and it's not looking like River will have a good reception outside of pop stan circles on social media. River needs to be reduced to a cute promo single for gay clubs and Jaded needs to be pushed to power rotation on radio and the top of every Spotify playlist. I second this. Still hope River does its thing but Jaded is the obvious smash here. I don’t want another ALY/Drive situation again where they made the mistake of sleeping on the obvious single choices
Lose My Breath Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 I'm sadly disappointed in the album, like majorly. I think the only track I like is Jaded and MAYBE Rose Colored Glasses I'm just on track 9 though
Lose My Breath Posted March 10, 2023 Posted March 10, 2023 And Muddy Feet seriously serves Cool For The Summer
