Miley Cyrus - 'Endless Summer Vacation'

Are any songs other River being pushed on playlists? Do any of the songs have TTH play listing? I don't have Spotify so I can't check.

I feel like after Flowers and River, her best single choices would be Jaded, Rose Colored Lenses, and maybe Violet Chemistry.

Has anyone else read the AM description of the album?

”Acclaimed R&B/electronic artist James Blake joins on album highlight ‘Violet Chemistry’, which feels like a spiritual and sonic cousin of Taylor Swift’s Midnights cut ‘Lavender Haze’.”

Literally how does it sound or feel like that at all :priceless:

Island is honestly so haunting

Despite it being far too early in the year for this to be anything more than wishful thinking, I can 110% see Miley sweeping the general field with this, taking home AOTY, ROTY, and SOTY—finally receiving her (ahem) flowers from both the Recording Academy and the GP now that “Flowers” has become a true worldwide #1 smash.

Absolutely stunning work: so gloriously, lushly cinematic, leading us from the brightly winking, early morning familiarity of “Flowers” onward, sun-bleached, wading deep into the filthy, playful night of “Handstand,” all the way to the crackling neon lights of “Wonder Woman”’s last call at the piano bar.

What a record!

The Violet Chemistry stanning, the hags have seen the light :clap3:

This is such a great album. The day you guys start appreciating more than upbeat gay music, your lives will improve considerably.

Underwhelming first listen but Island is really cute. It reminds me of Hotel California a lil bit. It's kinda wild that Wildcard sounds straight out of Bangerz :skull: River sounds a mess too. You can start singing Turn Up the Music in the chorus.

Flowers was such a perfect lead single. There is not much beautiful and authentic moments like the string in flowers for the pop songs. :eatpopcorn: the ballads are carrying this album hard.

same with Brandi, looks like Miley went to the taylor swift school of having female vocalists on your albums :rip:

Brandi feature is her Grammy bait

Flowers - it’s alright, nothing special, will never understand why this song smashed the way it did • 5/10

Jaded - i like this one but kinda hate her voice in the chorus, seems like she’s just screaming out the notes • 8/10

Rose Colored Lenses - oh i LOVEEEE this track. Gorgeous. My favourite so far • 10/10

Thousand Miles - this is stunning. The pre-chorus is giving me Every Rose Has Its Thorn and that’s one of my favourite Miley songs/covers. This one’s a keeper • 10/10

You - sorry but i hate these types of songs. Also the production is clunky and doesn’t fit. The whole song is just chaotic and annoying and i couldn’t wait until it was over • 3/10

Handstand - this is Dead Petz meets Lana Del Rey. The production is interesting! I really like it • 9/10

River - i love the groove and her voice here. It’s hot. Lyrics are a bit too repetitive for me but the production redeems this track • 8/10

Violet Chemistry - a whole BOP! The bridge is perfection. She needs to make this a single if she wants another smash hit • 10/10

Muddy Feet - oh she really dragged Liam here, yesss Miley!! The outro with Sia is beautiful. I like this one • 8/10

Wildcard - it’s not terrible i suppose but i don’t like it • 4/10

Island - i’m loving the reggae vibes in the production, probably the most summery song on the album alongside Rose Colored Lenses. It’s pretty • 8/10

Wonder Woman - BORING. It’s probably objectively a good song tbh but piano ballads just bore me • 5/10

Overall rating  • 7/10

Standouts • RCL, Thousand Miles, Violet Chemistry, Handstand and Muddy Feet

Island is a hit like a summer smash. I hope she releases it as a single later on it's so smooth

Jaded, Violet Chemistry, River are the top3 for me.:clap3:

Same. Seems like this is the top 3 for a lot of people too, at least judging from this thread.

Jaded needs to blow up, like seriously it’s too good not to become a hit

How is Handstand getting any hate? :biblio:

So far it's EASILY been the highlight in a sea of meh, it's soo good :jonny3:

Now that I'm done listening, for me the standouts and enjoyable tracks are: Handstand (easily the best song on the album), River, Violet Chemistry (it was a 1-2-3 punch), Wildcard, Island and Wonder Woman. Everything else is forgettable.

Though, I'm still undecided on Muddy :katie:

Giving island another go since it has so much promise, the opening verse is such a strong start.

Ok I really think the biggest issue with this album is the production. Island is actually a cute strong melodic track but the production on the chorus just does NOT hit and that’s the case with so many songs.

The way Violet Chemistry is the only song (other than Flowers) that is produced to near perfection, she really should have got Mike to EP the whole thing.

Loved the first 5 songs, then it nosedives in quality with handstand. Glad she pulled a Taylor on Brandi and Sia. Make the songs listenable. Plastic Hearts was miles better.

stand outs that I see myself coming back to

Flowers

Jaded

You

Wildcard

Wonder Woman

The way I woke up and before even getting out of bed, pushed play on River. I’m a fiend for this experimental gay bop grower, I fear! Switched like a flaggot over night! Oprah Winfrey Concert GIF by CBS

I have not connected too much with the album on first listen. The songs that really got my attention are Handstand and Violet Chemistry (and Jaded to an extent).

I'll give it another try tonight. The album is enjoyable but I wasn't blown away and I don't necessarily feel the need to come back to it. Maybe my opinion will change with another listen at home and not in public transports.

I was surprised that the album is so short (I have not followed her recently so maybe that wasn't a surprise to anyone but me but hey), I liked that. With streaming it feels like artists are just releasing lengthier and lengthier albums but for ESV it felt nice and concise.

I didn't enjoy that the album started with Flowers though. I very rarely enjoy when an album starts off with the single that was known for weeks/months before because it feels "easy" and not as "world building" as I like an album opener to be.

The trio of "Handstand", "River", and "Violet Chemistry" is incredible.

This is like a washed down Miley Cyrus. It’s cute and chill but that’s probably what they were aiming at.

I actually really like this. I could see Unholy and The Most fitting here

Can we talk about how awkward the production in the verses of VC is? Like, I love the track overall, but those verses throw me every time :gaycat6:

Not saying I dislike it but on first listen this is very different to what I expected :sistrens:

i will be skipping Wonder Woman tho

I desperately need them to fix the glitch on Wonder Woman. Other than that I'm absolutely in love. This is gorgeous start to finish, like I'm in awe. :gaycat4:

A 10/10 for me, instantly.
