Ivan_brit Posted January 5, 2023 Author Posted January 5, 2023 Taylor 1. Midnights = 4,615,000 19. Red TV = 1,858,000 27. Folklore = 1,605,000 38. 1989 = 1,284,000 TOTAL = 9,362,000 How did 1989 outsold Evermore & Fearless TV?? I Fear what will happen when they release 1989 TV KING OF POP THE WEEKND 11. Dawn FM = 2,426,000 13. The Hightlights = 2,163,000 22. After Hours = 1,746,000 TOTAL = 6,335,000 ATRL Told me Abel was overexposed & a flop this year?? Dawn FM doing numbers when he did not move a finger also Im Sure Starboy album did some cute numbers in 2022
Holiest Dreams Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Wouldn’t say Chartmasters is inflated, their numbers are way more accurate than these. But with that said, I still like to see the lists to get a slight gauge since most of the more accurate sources don’t do these official lists. Anti Hero making it to #26 as well
JustLikeHoney Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Two things. First - ATRL told me Dawn FM was a failure. Second - 1989 is still charting top 40! I can't even imagine what's going to happen when "Taylor's Version" comes out.
Thelightiscumin Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 (edited) Olivia still in the top 5 and pulling almost double the numbers of someone who was “more relevant” yet people were saying she is forgotten Edited January 5, 2023 by Thelightiscumin
Kyle-x Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 Maxident by Stray Kids has topped 3 million sales, I wonder why it's so deflated here. They also have another album that has sold over 1.7 million in pure sales but is missing. Seventeen's sales almost match up with the Circle chart numbers except Sector 17 isn't included. That was a repackage but it sold 1.7 million on its own merit but it's neither included separately nor factored into the overall sales of the Face the Sun album. Blackpink's units are more than halved and NCT Dream's sales are also messed up. Tomorrow X Together's 1.7 million seller, IVE's 1.6 million seller, aespa's 1.8 million seller, NCT 127's 1.9 million seller, etc. are all missing too. Even using Hanteo sales instead of Circle sales the numbers are still off by hundreds of thousands of copies. K-Pop sales are pretty cut and dry for the most part since the numbers are so readily available so the discrepancies are odd? Have they started weighing pure sales... less?

MingYouToo Posted January 5, 2023 Posted January 5, 2023 NOT folklore selling more in 2022 than 2021 1989 still Top 40 8 years later is CRAZY!

UWC is not the best source at all, there's a massive deflation of some Korean artists' sales and South Korea has an official chart clearly providing all the correct numbers so no excuse.

Yep, the only asian market they "trust" is Japan. I find Chartmasters more reliable (even though it has its questionable things), Mediatraffic was always a mess.

Just checking Spotify Philippines or Indonesia is obvious how many streaming units that countries adds for being ignore

Both chart masters & Mediatraffic are not the best sources hate how CM count streams before they release the album… some artist release like 5 singles before the album then they release the album sometimes even fail to chart at global Top 10s but still surpass millions according to CM

Same Thing as SZA getting that gold from RIAA after the first week, because of the single from 2020. Of course those streams have to count. When we say an album has x billion on Spotify that also always includes singles from before album release.

The Liam Payne debut album was a total flop it’s certified just because of Strip That Down Also the Ava Max album comes to my mind in this case she release like 6 singles before the release
