What are they even saying :deadbanana4:

“Uhhh… this is a list of singers”

Posted (edited)

No matter how they try to spin this, they will never be able to explain the absence of Celine, and the inclusion of Taylor, Billie and the BTS dude.

If this is about Impacts and Influences, then How can MJ, who was already a fantastic singer in his prime days, so low?  Literally only about 10 spots above TAYLOR, who is one of the worst singers of all time. They will probably argue that Taylor can emote better than MJ fkla ldkfjal and t DONNA SUMMER dlkfjasd;klfj I mean, who want to sound like TAYLOR out of all people? dlfkjafl;aj

Just admit you took Taylor's, Ellie's and BTS' checks!

Lana deserves her spot; you have a whole new generation, Taylor included, trying to mimic her singing style.

how do you sing without voices?

Posted

Then what are the criteria?

Posted

what are they talking about? they literally included people like taylor and billie who have nice voices but are far from being skilled singers

Posted

If it isn't about vocals, it's STILL sus that she isn't there

since she is one of the most recognizable voices in music

tbh it's even worse with the excuse, since there are Several more acts who should be on that list, but arent

They clearly posted the response  to make people angrier and get more clicks

Because their lists have been horrible for 40 years at least and they never cared

Chill :dies: I disagree with Taylor’s placement in the list (along with Rihanna’s and many others, plus Celine’s absence) but I’m not going to blame the artists when it’s Rolling Stone’s list. Don’t you think if Taylor or Jungkook “paid” for their spots they wouldn’t have been as low as they were? Come on now. Let’s be rational here. Jungkook is in the bottom 10, what kind of flop check would he have written to end up there :rip: you can slam the list without slamming the artists on it.

why is this random company still making music charts that no one follows? :rip:

Well they're right, good singer and good vocalist are different concepts. Being a good singer is not necessary hitting high notes and being technically perfect, it's more about being a performer, conveying emotion, etc.

There were flaws in the list, but it's just: a list of someone's opinion. Don't need to make a big deal

Girl… Celine fits this description perfectly :gaycat7:

So what exactly are the criteria for this list?

Posted

i bet they don't even know the criteria themselves and just picked randomly and made sure to add Taylor and a couple of Kpop stars for clickbait

Rolling Stone: take the L and delete the article please.

seeing MJ so low when he had a voice and impact

not seeing Madonna who may not have da best voice (better than a few people on this list) but emotes better than a lot of da acts mentioned

It was a holistic process.

As in, they pulled the entire list out of their a-holes?

Greatest Singers list yet you have some Kpop girlie there and not Celine Dion? The joke really writes itself :priceless:

Haven't checked that list, but really??? This just invalidates this whole pamphlet existence. They are really trying to re-write music history, huh? That list is a bad joke that should have been publish on April Fools.

I SHOULD'VE NOTICED THAT TOO. If it's not about pure vocal talent then Madonna should definitively be on the list. Madonna's voice is pretty distinctive and has a lot of charisma despite not being the best technically. Once again, why is some Kpop girlie on there but not legends like her? :rip:

That doesn't make it any better lmao.

The list is trash and whoever made and agree to it is delusional.

The backtracking :rip: In that case, where are Madonna and Britney?

Posted (edited)

Donna invented popularized EROTIC SINGING; There would be no Beyonce, Janet, Madonna, Britney, Selena Gomez without Donna sUMMER.

That is IMPACT and GENIUS, Rolling Stone!  She was also responsible for a whole new genre and modern dance music as we know today :bird: The staff at Rolling Stone seem to be quite ignorant when it comes to Music History!

Well, at least Justin Bieber is not in the top 200. I am amazed that there are articles in mainstream media talking about him being snubbed. I mean, this is not the "Most Popular Singers" list.

I don't listen to J Hud, but she also deserves to be in the top 200 too.
