Billboard revised, RIAA didnt Yes you're right. https://www.riaa.com/riaa-debuts-album-award-streams/ Well - anyway - if streaming was counted during the digital era those songs would have obviously been certified faster. Remember YouTube was a big thing during the early 10s. In 2013, RIAA certified 663 Digital Single Awards and 128 Album Awards In 2014, RIAA certified 660 Digital Single Awards and 168 Album Awards In 2015, RIAA certified 934 Digital Single Awards and 122 Album Awards In 2016, RIAA certified 890 Digital Single Awards and 407 Album Awards In 2017, RIAA certified a total of 1,671 Song Awards and 404 Album Awards (Transition to streaming era but digital sales were still somewhat alive) In 2018, just 33 albums and 151 singles released this year achieved RIAA certification In 2019, just 45 albums and 209 singles released this year achieved RIAA certification In 2020, just 21 albums and 123 singles released this year achieved RIAA certification In 2021, just 16 albums and 98 singles released this year achieved RIAA certification I'd say 2016 and 2017 are inflated by songs being back-certified by the new streaming rules. You guys are thrown off by the outliers. In general, songs released in the digital era were much more certified. I don't know how you can argue it was easier to be certified in 2021 when certifications were at 10% of 2015. You can look this up by typing "RIAA awards 201X". https://www.riaa.com/riaas-gold-platinum-awards-2014-year-in-review-2/ We will see in 10 years if units have dipped in the streaming era compared to digital era. Woman spent like 50 weeks charting and not even 4x? Compare this to other 2021 songs… Very much local too. It's worldwide numbers are embarassing for an album that matched Taylor's 1989 US radio record

None of the songs hit #1, none of the songs are diamond, no tour, album never hit #1, Doja had a meltdown sbshhss like this was a great follow-up but definitely not a smash era. Literally those singles runs are comical considered the overall units sold
PurrKaty Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 She has gotten bigger with each era, I hope she smashes even harder with her DC4! I need a number one album and single this time!!
