It was absolutely tragic. One of the worst series I’ve ever watched.

Amen

I only got to episode 3 and the plot was really slow. No point in watching it now

It was ok but as mentioned, got way too complicated at the end.

This is a millionth example of Netflix creating a show that could be 3-4 episodes but dragging it out, making it boring after a while. I just watched The Haunting of Hill House, The Watcher, and now also Midnight Mass - ALL shows that started off amazing but could’ve ended in 3 episodes and by episode 5 for all of them, I was ready to call it quits. They’re so stupid over there.

haunting was amazing!

WHAT :bibliahh: They keep bullshit like White American Girl in Paris going for 3 seasons, but THIS they cancel ?? :bibliahh:

Of course they cancel one of the only good shows they released in 2022. Probably too challenging for their viewers.

It's so funny how everyone always complains about the cancelations but 80% of the people doing so... Haven't even watched the shows or haven't been able to finish them.

Let's be honest... Netflix is a company. And they want revenue. They have access to numbers that we don't.

If the show was seen by a lot let's say first episode or first and second and then they drop it... That makes a lot of viewed hours... But the quantity of people watching the whole seasons and subsequently wanting to get more episodes is not as big. And the show WAS EXPENSIVE. It really shows.

It's difficult to say goodbye to a good show, of course... But Netflix brings like 200 new shows every year. It's normal that some are not profitable enough. And those... Have to go. Point blank.

I'm sorry but some of you do not know how TV and renewals work; just look at this BTS video of 1899; this is clearly a very expensive show to make and produce:

Comparing it to Emily in Paris which has no special effects and is a much simpler show to film is ridiculous, it's clearly much cheaper to make, hence why it will always be more likely to get renewed than shows like 1899.

Having said that, I still wasn't expecting this to be axed because it's first weeks views for Netflix were high, it must of completely dropped off / people didn't tune in for all the episodes.

All of this. I started watching the series right after its release and never was top 1. Considering the level of production, this needed to be a massive hit, not just a moderate one (like it probably was).

you're always right :clap3:

i don't know why people don't get this

I’m actually really surprised about this. I thought a renewal was a lock. Was it that expensive? Because based on the data publicly available it seemed to be doing very well. Cancelling every show that doesn’t do Stranger Things or Wednesday numbers doesn’t seem like a good model business.

I watched it and ngl i wasn’t as impressed as i was with dark. It became tiring after a few episodes and i’m assuming that the production is too expensive so that’s why they cancelled it.

that's netflix.

everything is just "content". I guess that's every streaming platform, but netflix is the worst. some shows take time to build up and build fanbase. but they don't believe in shows they themselves greenlight

I think ppl just watched it because it's plastered everywhere on Netflix, it didn't get anyone talking about it like Emily In Paris so a new season would very likely to flop

Boring and unnecessarily confusing

Y’all laughed at the Sense8 girlies but this is the reality. None of ur faves are safe and Netflix is an art graveyard. Extreme consumption gone wrong.

HBOMax will be going the same direction as long as THAT evil sick man is controlling the reins.
