Stray Kids - 169 songs

TXT - 52 songs

The fact despite having over three times the amount of songs, they're only getting 37 million more streams. :rip:

TXT - 2.86m per song average

Stray Kids - 1.1m per song average

SKZ doesn't even have a recent Korean comeback, while TXT does and these numbers for SKZ are in a non-comeback period, which shows that SKZ songs have way more longevity. Songs like CASE 143, Maniac, God's Menu and Thunderous are still getting more daily streams than any TXT song (not including  TXT's newest comeback of course). In short, TXT couldn't even surpass SKZ's in daily streams even though they just had a recent comeback and new comebacks usually also boost the older catalog as well :rip:

Let's take a look between the top 10 most gained streams on Spotify last week between TXT and SKZ songs, shall we?:

  1. Stray Kids - CASE 143 - 2.9M
  2. Stray Kids - MANIAC - 2.3M
  3. Stray Kids - God's Menu - 1.8M
  4. Stray Kids - Thunderous - 1.6M
  5. TXT - Good Boy Gone Bad - 1.5M
  6. TXT - Love Song - 1.337M
  7. Stray Kids - Back Door - 1.332M
  8. TXT - PS5 - 1.32M
  9. TXT - Loser Lover - 1.1M
  10. Stray kids - Red Lights - 1M

But according to you, the only reason SKZ are getting more streams overall is because they have more songs, then shouldn't TXT dominate this list if that's the case? :emofish:

The truth is that SKZ in general are just getting more streams and views than TXT, and it has nothing to do with the amount of songs.

SKZ's top 10 most popular songs>>>> TXT's top 10 most popular songs

TBH I think Twice losing their charting power in Korea has more to do with overexposure rather than the concept change (like many users claim)

Songs after the concept change such as Fancy, Feel Special and More & More did well, not as successful as their previous singles but you can’t expect a group to constantly get smash hits so :michael:

I’m sure they would do better after a long break but it’s clear that they are focusing on the international market instead (and succeeding) so none of this stuff really matters at the end :clap3: they already have enough hits that most groups would dream of

Agree with this.

When you’re over saturated/overexposed it’s easy to become “overrated” and people will turn on you. This even happens in the west too ( Jennifer Lawrence is an example I can think of on top of my head).

They have a solid fan base in Korea + huge in Japan (which people always over look for Spotify stats :rip:) + doing well on the international stage, so it’s not really gloom and doom just cause their singles can only go top 20 on melon.

I wonder who the next entry to the 1 Million+ Club will be

Interesting that SM, JYP and HYBE have 2 groups each. Starship/Kakao has 1 and YG has 1.

Will NMIXX make it in next, or will BABYMONSTER get there first?

1 million the new gg physical floor :skull: who woulda thought a few years ago

Yeah it's wild really. 1M is the new 100k. In the past 1 million was a very rare occurrence for female artists and usually only possible in Japan (see BoA, SNSD).

2022 especially seemed to be the year of million selling girl groups. Red Velvet, aespa, TWICE, ITZY and IVE all joined the club.

I'm sure there will be more this year too.

The instrumental section is so good when that choreo hits. :jonny5: ELEVEN/Queen of Hearts/Blue Blood IVE is the best. I hope they have a lot more songs like that on the album.

the way Kep1er's new Japanese single didn't make it to neither Billboard Japan nor Oricon chart AT ALL:coffee:

I'm sure they'll make it once they drop the physicals but the single itself is underperforming

I also decided to check Kep1er's stats in Japan in general:

SINGLES:

WA DA DA: Peak: 31, Weeks charting: 23

Up!: Peak: 33, Weeks charting: 5

Wing Wing: Peak: 49, Weeks charting: 5

We Fresh: N/A

ALBUMS:

DOUBLAST: Peak: 9, Weeks charting: 22

FLY UP (Wing Wing): Peak: 2, Weeks charting: 25
