Like 2010-2012 was some of the best years in global Western music where we had all these pop girls and boys slaying, however Kpop releases back then was very behind and felt like they were releases from 2002-2004 if that makes sense? This is why a lot of people’s perception of Kpop are seen as “tacky”, since they still think that Kpop has the 2nd gen sound and aesthetic. But 3rd gen really shifted Kpop to a new direction and made Kpop seem more “cool” and made it easier for 4th gen to thrive globally. However a lot of people today still have all these stereotypes about Kpop.
