From carbon monoxide poisoning - so sad :(

They said she had called 911 when her car got stuck in the snow, but that help never came.

"I feel like everybody that tried to get to her got stuck," Tomeshia Brown, Taylor's sister, told the outlet. "Fire department, police, everybody got stuck."

Taylor told her family in a group chat that the snow was accumulating quickly and shared video footage of snow covering her car windows, according to the WSOC report.

"She was telling my sister that she was scared," Brown said.

She believes Taylor died of carbon monoxide poisoning. "The car was running, and the snow was still coming, so it blocked the pipes, the exhaust pipe," Steele said, per the report.

"After the car cut off," she added, "that's when she iced up."

"She was stuck in her car for hours/days which caused the snow to continue to build up on her car causing her to be unable to get out."

This is very tragic. Sorry to the family for their lost.

If you live in a place that gets weather like this please make sure to have an emergency kit in your car including a thermal blanket and portable shovel. And learn how you can break the windows from the inside.

This is truly a real life nightmare. I hope the emergency services that she called are thoroughly investigated and prosecuted accordingly, if necessary... This seems like such a huge case of incompetence.

People are warned to stay home when unprecedented storms like these happen. It's a tragedy, but I think emergency services had no way of getting to her.

Damn, my age :'( Buried alive :'( Really terrifying and tragic what is doing on there. Truly a state of emergency...

God that’s awful and frightening. I always roll my eyes when my parents tell me to have supplies in case I run off the road in a snow storm, but now I’ll be more cautious.

i hope her family finds peace

A tragedy but incompetence from both the deceased and emergency services :michael: from the deceased for traveling in such awful conditions that could have potentially been avoided in the first place but also not having an emergency kit in the car and from emergency services for not trying to reach her even if on foot to at least guide her to safety.

Then perhaps her work needs to be blamed. Why was her workplace making employees drive in a dangerous storm? Why couldn't emergency services reach her? Did they not have a properly equipped vehicle? Was no one nearby that could see her and help? Was there no place nearby emergency services could have contacted to potentially get her help? There are just too many questions. This was likely completely avoidable.

yep, unfortunately some people are still expected to leave the safety of their homes to go work. In which case the employer should be held liable imo. I personally would tell my employer to shove it if they asked me to go into the office while a blizzard hits the city... I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one calling in that day.

this is so horrible, rest in peace. :(

there was a driving ban in place for the City of Buffalo from 9:30 am on Friday. so her employer has to be held responsible for forcing her to come in to work in the first place and ignoring the driving ban. it wasn't safe for people to be driving to and from work at all.

The snow began at 8 AM. She got off of work at 3 PM. She was already trapped.

RIP to this Queen. :weeps::heart:

I think it was worse than the city could handle or prepared for

You'd think her work would make her shelter in place or take the day off. smh

I agree. Andell only moved to Buffalo to care for her Father. That likely played a part in why she still attempted to return home after work.

This is what Buffalo looked like after the storm

Literally 6ft of snow, everything including snow plows were getting stuck. National Guard had to be called in.

Damn I'm about an hour away from there and got barely any snow.

Buffalo is right on Lake Erie so they get lake effect snow. I imagine an hour away is a decent way inland, so that probably makes a difference.

No, I live right by Lake Ontario so we are used to lake effect snow. This major storm just barely missed us with the snow, though we did get the winds and flash freeze.
