 I really want her to pursue more slow jam music (promise, body party, ride,sorry). Or something new that she hasn’t really done before like alternative/dark/moody Rnb. Or just music that can actually be played and dance to in the clubs.

It’s very……….niche. It seems like she and her team are making music more for licensing & commercials, TikTok, kids etc. As a fan this is so frustrating.

Thats what im saying.....like is her team (producers & writers) blind to the feedback the past few years? GP/Fans do not want these generic/childish a$$ songs that we cant play anywhere else except a zumba class or a pep rally ........i wanna hear a song that goes hard in the club, or a catchy song you can just vibe out to. Some of these songs at her big age is so cringe......

I would recommend her getting a new songwriting/production team........the ppl she has been working with post-2013 give songs that are:

 

1. Corny/Cringe/Wack. (Levelup/Jump/Dose/Melanin)

2. OutDated sound/Out of touch (80% of Jackie)

3. Generic/Boring (80% of Beauty MArks)

 

Dont even get me started on the piss poor promo this era....

I somewhat agree,  but I think Better Thangs is too boring/generic in this musical climate.......plus summer walker fares way better on alt/darker/moody rnb/hip hop production. I remember when she put out "ex for a reason" with JT and her Fanbase hated that ish. So once i heard Better Thangs i knew summer's fans would not really support that song. 

 

I really wish she extended more of the sound on her "self titled" album, especially with the deep cut like DUI, Sophmore, Backseat Love
