FolkLover1989 Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 Truly the hitmaker and she did it Solo in all 3 decades.
brainmaniac Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 Who else has topped Radio Songs in 3 decades
Maneater Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 The tweet means those specific 3 decades, not 3 decades in general

KatyPrismSpirit Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 Madonna definitely did this in the 80s, 90s and 00s

wastedpotential Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 4 minutes ago, KatyPrismSpirit said: Madonna definitely did this in the 80s, 90s and 00s Radio Songs as a chart didn't come into existence until 1990 (if I'm reading the wikipedia article right) so she didn't, at least not on this chart. That explains why no one else has done it solo, because no artist was in a position to get a #1 in the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s (except apparently Christina), since Britney has never gone #1 on this chart and no one else has really been a hitmaker across those three decades, and no one who has gotten a #1 in the 2000s has had a big enough radio hit to get one in the 2020s.

There’s a Wikipedia article on #1s on this chart from the 1980s though https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Hot_100_Airplay_number-one_singles_of_the_1980s

I was going to say, looking at this 80s list, Janet Jackson also had #1s on this chart, so she had them in the 80s, 90s, and 00s So basically Janet was the first to do it , although it technically doesn’t count for this record Christina was the first to officially do it Taylor was the first to officially do it as only a lead artist Still, they’re in rare company and it’s an amazing accomplishment for all 3 of them! UnusualBoy Posted December 27, 2022 Posted December 27, 2022 Katy & Gaga have done it in 2 but I doubt they will top the chart this decade so Taylor may keep this for a while.

Holiest Dreams Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 Hitless and radio poison allegations have officially been beat Even I’m shocked I expected this era to finally give her another “legit” hit, but even then I predicted it would peak top 3 on overall radio at best.

Music was #2 and 4 Minutes was #11 respectively.
