Who else has topped Radio Songs in 3 decades

Christina as featured artist

Well that’s great for Christina being the only other one besides Taylor who has done it, even if isn’t as lead :gaycatina1:

Radio Songs as a chart didn't come into existence until 1990 (if I'm reading the wikipedia article right) so she didn't, at least not on this chart.

That explains why no one else has done it solo, because no artist was in a position to get a #1 in the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s (except apparently Christina), since Britney has never gone #1 on this chart and no one else has really been a hitmaker across those three decades, and no one who has gotten a #1 in the 2000s has had a big enough radio hit to get one in the 2020s.

Not Madonna, Music was her biggest airplay hit of the 2000s and it didn’t go to #1 on Radio Songs

There’s a Wikipedia article on #1s on this chart from the 1980s though

4 Minutes was a smaller hit than Music though.

It was much smaller on radio too, it only peaked at #11 on Radio Songs :gaycat6:

The chart was significantly reformatted in 1990 (as in, they went from just asking radio stations what songs they played to actually tracking them), so even Billboard considers pre-December 1990 and post-December 1990 to be different, for records like this

Oh I see, so kind of like Billboard separates the The Hot 100 from The Top 100, which was basically The Hot 100 before The Hot 100, but Billboard kind of considers it a different chart even though it was the direct predecessor to it.

I was going to say, looking at this 80s list, Janet Jackson also had #1s on this chart, so she had them in the 80s, 90s, and 00s

So basically Janet was the first to do it :gaynetcat1:, although it technically doesn’t count for this record

Christina was the first to officially do it :gaycatina1:

Taylor was the first to officially do it as only a lead artist :gaylorcat2:

Still, they’re in rare company and it’s an amazing accomplishment for all 3 of them! :clap3:

Did Beyoncé have a song reaching #1 in 2010s?

Yeah Rihanna will join the list

Katy & Gaga have done it in 2 but I doubt they will top the chart this decade so Taylor may keep this for a while.

Yeah, she had:

Crazy In Love (2003)

Baby Boy (2003)

Check On It (2006)

Irreplaceable (2006)

Single Ladies (2008)

-

Perfect (2017)

Hitless and radio poison allegations have officially been beat

Even I’m shocked :rip: I expected this era to finally give her another “legit” hit, but even then I predicted it would peak top 3 on overall radio at best.

Even if Radio Songs started in the 80s Madge was never gonna get the title simply by virtue of her having no #1 in the 00s. Music was #2 and 4 Minutes was #11 respectively.
