New York is the best the US has to offer and even then it’s like a 7/10.

Not a New Yorker, but how can you NYC guys unironically give it a lower score? Don't you have like 24-hour subways and ****?

24-hour service doesn’t excuse how dirty and unsafe the system can be/feel. There are some stations that smell absolutely horrible. The system is huge but there are large parts of the outer boroughs that have no service at all. It’s not even close to being perfect.

San Francisco is a 8, so far, for me; I can get around without a car really easy and I walk pretty much everywhere.

When I lived in Denver it was a bit different, though, the Lightrail was really all we had, so you really need a car; I’d give them a 6

Sofia - Absolute garbage. They're introducing a fully electronic system from next year which is the most absurd thing ever, as well as increasing the price. It's too expensive for what the public transport has to offer. I'm visiting for the holidays and had to take the bus today. They haven't changed the rolling stock since the socialist years it seems :rip: The metro is actually alright - the stations are beautiful. But that's where the positive things end.

When I was in high school I used to ride without a ticket just so I can start an argument with the ticket checkers, if they ever caught me.

Either way, I live abroad for most of the year and the public transit in the Dutch city I live in is alright. It's just buses that I might occasionally take if a friend or hook up or the places I need to go are too far.

The lightrail (or a tram as the rest of the world calls it..) is actually very useful when executed correctly. Not surprised an American city has botched it.

It's, ideally, supposed to connect the suburbs to the city centre.

No one in Denver calls it a “tram” dddddd. With that said, I didn’t say the botched it, it was great, it just didn’t go as far as I would’ve preferred (I.e. Boulder or Fort Collins)—but I haven’t lived there in years so who’s to say if it’s the same or not

Germany: 9/10.

I used to complain a lot but by traveling I realised that most countries are way worse off except maybe some east asian ones like Japan.

While I share your frustrations, unfortunately this isn't true. It's not even close to the worst in Australia let alone in the world, in fact typically Melbourne is thought of as the best public transport city here :skull:

Small town in Michigan: 0/10. You could take the LETS bus as it's open for anyone to use but it's mainly for handicapped citizens or for people who can't drive.

Even the big cities in Michigan have shite public transportation.

It’s nonexistent, 0.

like a 6, once they complete the light rail projects in Tel Aviv it might be a 7. A lot of effort has been made in the past few years but the infrastructure is still 20-30 years behind the capacity and density of the metro area.

istanbul 7/10. there needs to be more ferries and metro lines in the north of the asia side

traffic ruins everything though :rip:

Madrid 9/10.. There are plenty of metros, trains, buses, taxis, uber, city bikes, intercity fast speed trains, and a few trams which is good because it's 2022 and people need those roads to drive.

Also, it's very nice the way the city is turning more and more into tesla taxis, irizar and solaris buses, so the era of fuel for city transportation is coming to its end soon for good :cm:

Damn the review of public transportation here at least in the Western countries with Aus & NZ was depressing. Guess my city public transportation wasn't did too bad overall. It just suffered being the inconsistencies and lack of urgency when it came to maintenance that leads to facilities like lifts and escalators and even trains being broken and taking forever to fix it.

I can say that the public transportation in Asia particularly for major cities in Japan, South Korea, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore are pretty good at least based on my friends' feedback who's been there before.

Orlando is 0/10 you NEED a car to do basically anything in Florida

Miami is a 0-10 as well

da nerve of us saying we a metropolitan area with horrendous public transportation

back in 2000 we voted for an extra half a penny to improve it and at first things were getting better but eventually everything they gave us was removed

new routes, new schedules all discontinued in a few years
