The biggest and longest running Australian TV show in history never received any awards acclaim despite being a massive cultural show that was also the starting point of many stars such as Kylie Minogue, Margot Robbie, Natalie Imbruglia, Holly Valance, etc. that started their early careers there

Babe, the Daytime Emmys and the Primetime Emmys are two different things.

 

Neighbours (and Home and Away) never really aired in the States; at Neighbours' peak, the US had twelve daytime soaps on air. Put 2 and 2 together...

Because they’re available on US Netflix. That Australian show wasn’t shown on any US channels and you won’t find current Korean or British shows that aren’t available to US audiences getting nominated for Emmys either

Neighbours isn't shown in the US. The actors that broke out from the show  are more known than the show itself

I think you need to be known to get a nomination.  
 

I might be wrong though. Has anyone heard of the Emmys nominating a completely unknown entity in their sleep?
