TaylorNation Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 have we read the same article? it doesn’t drag Dakota here for the Ben Platt lashings tho
Khal Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 I feel like when dragging nepo babies, we should focus on the talentless ones, not the ones who are actually good at their jobs.
PoisonPill Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 I don't really get the purpose of dragging the performers themselves. They didn't choose their parents or their opportunities. More useful would be calling out the industry and casting directors for not trying harder to discover talent outside Hollywood, and instead just reaching for their friends' kids.

That's just too reasonable!!
chris1991 Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 Not them choosing violence right before the holidays. The writer is coming for blood!
Gui Blackout Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 Why do people care so much about if an actor comes from a poor or rich/famous family? Getting cast in a movie is not a meritocracy If they're good at the job that's all that matters. The whole tone of this piece is really weird take-down-y for no reason.
Dark Miracles Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 Ngl this article gave me a few good chuckles. But I wish he took the chance to roast the Landis clan
AccioMiley Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 I knew maya hawke would be on the cover But i dont see the problem with nepo babies as long as theyre talented
mathekr Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 There's no draggin in the article though? It's more of a case study of nepo babies in Hollywood and Tiktok's obsession with them as if it was some burried secret that only Gen Z was able to crack the code. It's a great article.
Virgos Groove Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 The cover and the title are iconic omggg
Dark Miracles Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 (edited) I wonder which nepo baby the author refers to that gave the widely acclaimed performance? There really aren't that many who give that Edited December 19, 2022 by Dark Miracles
popmusicisdead Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 this part is about Dakota isn't it? Quote The casting director puts it bluntly: “A lot of the children of famous people are not good.” How often are they meeting with them? “God, there have been so many over the course of my life.” They once met with an aspiring actress who was the daughter of two movie stars. “There was something else that walked in the room with her,” they say. “Like, ‘My parents are famous, and I’m here because somebody told me to meet you.’ A lovely person but definitely a sense of entitlement. She left, and I was like, That person doesn’t excite me. The struggle isn’t there.” This is not always a deal-breaker. Afterward, the daughter booked the role that made her a household name anyway i don't mind nepo babies. other than the straight up talentless ones like Brooklyn Beckham, Haley Bieber or Chet Hanks
Mitsouko Posted December 19, 2022 Posted December 19, 2022 Hilarious article. I love bitchy, mean spirited pop culture journalism.
