Four-and-a-half years ago, Mbappe was the best player on a World Cup winning team at age 19 1/2. This World Cup, Mbappe scored 8 goals and had it not been for his team letting him down, he would have 2 World Cups at age 24. Mbappe definitely belongs in the conversation.

 

I still think Pele is the best soccer player/footballer of all-time. However, if in 3 1/2 years time, Mbappe continues to perform at a high level and wins a 2nd World Cup in 2026, he could cement himself as the best ever. There is also a chance that Mbappe could play in the 2030 World Cup (he would be 31 1/2) and add to his legacy.

 It's still early for mbappe, but the man is very promising and is already an icon for what he did in 2018 and again this year, he led france to almost their 2nd consecutive world cup win..
