-I believe the other guy (his brother) was real. That image was the creepiest part of the movie for me!

there was never a brother, it was Beau looking in on himself.

people thinking THIS movie was ‘too abstract’ must hate masterpieces like mother!

Yeah I just saw it again and I agree. Also, I can't believe that the guy in the basement wasn't also played by Joaquin Phoenix. It looked just like him

im SCREAMING. Ari sent Mariah a letter and the scene, assumed that she hadn't seen it when it got approved and when he met her, she said she loves it. thats ******* crazy :deadbanana2:

I love love love that there’s so many ways to interpret this and none of them are wrong

Ari really said **** the cinema podcasters and redditors who wanted to be the first to “figure out” this movie

its both painfully obvious and completely up for interpretation in different ways

Having just seen this,  I didn't hate this and Jaoquin CARRIED. The film is way too divisive for awards season,  but his performance deserves recognition. :clap3:Better than Hereditary & Midsommar? No, but a thoroughly fascinating & interesting if though perplexing film.

The Always Be My Baby scene :rip:

I went in blind and WHEW, what a RIDE :deadbanana2:

Spoiler

Also, my mother died last month, so some scenes were... a lot :rip: The downside to seeing movies without knowing anything about them.

Just saw this and :deadbanana2:

I'm very glad this got made even if it's downright messy at times. The reveals towards the end in particular felt forced and muddled. The 1st act is masterful though.

Joaquin was absolutely fantastic and Legend Lupone came out guns ablaze. In a just world this gets in for SAG Ensemble. :clap3:

I think ANY criticism is fair, but to say that this film's message is HIDDEN and ambiguous is genuinely hilarious. it literally SCREAMS it at you... like if anything it's the opposite. lets put our thinking caps on, please :deadbanana2:

Right :deadbanana2:

If anything the handling of the themes was too shallow. Imo, at times it felt like the same points were being repeated without being further developed.

Finally watched this! The first act was phenomenal! I can’t say I loved the next two acts after that but it was definitely interesting.

How is this labeled a comedy? It's OK I'm watching it now

that was such a grating, convoluted hodgepodge of scenes and characters. a waste of 3 hours.

I have no words .......

Thank god I didn't go to the theatre to watch it there because I would've lost my sanity by the one hour mark
